The 49ers have placed WR Ricky Pearsall on the non-football injury list after the gunshot wound he suffered Saturday. That means he'll miss at least the first four games, which certainly comes as no surprise.
We've seen no indication yet of just how long the team expects Pearsall to be out, which also isn't surprising just two days after the shooting.
That Pearsall got out of the hospital the next day says he avoided any major internal injury. We'll keep watching for more details on the rookie WR's return timeline.
Pearsall's absence for at least the first quarter of the season can only help WR Jauan Jennings' playing time. We'll see whether rookie WR Jacob Cowing can also find a role early.
We're not betting on fantasy relevance in most formats for either player, though.
RB TreVeyon Henderson’s highlight reel screams fantasy stardom — but is he built to handle more than a complementary role?
