The Packers expected starting Kicker Greg Joseph has been released by the Packers. They signed rookie Brayden Narveson who spent the preseason with the Tennessee Titans. Narveson should be the starter for the Packers.
Joseph had "won" the kicker battled when the Packers released likely starter Anders Carlson just a day ago.
They were obviously keeping a close eye on the roster moves from yesterday's cutdown day and signed Narveson, letting Joseph go.
Narveson will now start for a solid offense which puts him on the radar for fantasy teams, especially if he can be more consistent than Carlson.
Narveson is a rookie who played at NC State last year where he showcased a big leg while being perfect on 38/38 XPs.
For the Titans in the preseason, Narveson made 6-of-7 field goals (only missing a 58-yard FG) and hitting both of his XP attempts.
Joseph made 24/30 FGs for the Minnesota Vikings last season, missing two of his 36 XPs as well.
In comparison, Carlson made 27/33 FGs for the Green Bay Packers last year while making only 27 of his 33 XPs.
The Packers also signed Australian Kicker Austin Hale (who kicked at Oklahoma State) to their practice squad.
