RB Dalvin Cook has signed with the Dallas Cowboys. Cook played with the New York Jets for most of the 2023 season before being released and signing with the Baltimore Ravens for their playoff run.
Adam Schefter of ESPN: "Former Jets and Vikings RB Dalvin Cook is signing with the Cowboys, per his agency LAA."
The Cowboys RB depth chart may be the easiest to crack in the entire NFL with Ezekiel Elliott, Rico Dowdle, and Deuce Vaughn as the current backs.
Entering his 29-year old season, Cook had a solid NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings.
After having shoulder surgery in February 2023, Cook hasn't been the same player on the field as early in his career.
Cook had four straight 1,000 yard rushing seasons from 2019-2022, but made very little impact for the Jets last season.
If Cook shows the effectiveness he had earlier in his career, there is a chance of Cook getting some snaps and playing time, but will likely still be behind at least Elliott and Dowdle to start the season.
Currently, Cook is not worth rostering, but he is someone to keep an eye on along with any news out of Dallas about his potential usage.
