The Dolphins kept just four WRs on their initial 53-man roster (Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Malik Washington, and Braxton Berrios). NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe speculates that it might mean more WR snaps for RB De'Von Achane.
What They're Saying
Wolfe: "Achane has been getting some reps at receiver in camp, and I wouldn't be surprised if they play him a decent amount out there to get him and Raheem Mostert on the field at the same time."
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
HC Mike McDaniel said back in June that he was looking for different ways to get Achane the ball this season, and using him out wide would be one way to accomplish that. Achane focused on his route-running this offseason and spent time practicing with the WRs in the spring. Achane's 13 preseason snaps included two out wide and two in the slot.
The Dolphins already used '21' personnel (2 RBs) at the highest rate in the league last year and could expand that package in 2024.
Coming off an uber efficient rookie season, Achane remains one of the highest-upside picks in 2024 fantasy football drafts.
