Giants WR Malik Nabers suffered an apparent left ankle injury in Sunday's training camp session, according to The Athletic's Charlotte Carroll. The team believes it's a "minor ankle sprain," Carroll adds, but Nabers is expected to undergo further testing.
More from Carroll on Nabers' injury: "It’s not initially clear what happened to cause the injury, but during an 11-on-11 session, team trainers started examining Nabers’ left foot/ankle before removing his cleat. After some time, he limped off the field before receiving more attention from trainers on the sideline. He watched the rest of practice, occasionally sitting down or stretching out his foot with a band."
Nabers has been one of the buzziest players of August, tearing up camp practices vs. both the Giants and Lions defenses. He's obviously set to play a big role for New York right out of the gate, so it'd be a big blow if this injury turns out more serious than initially believed.
For now, we're not moving Nabers in the WR rankings. But we'll update his status when we learn more and adjust accordingly.
