Giants WR Malik Nabers' dominant training camp has continued in joint practices against the Lions over the past two days. He's caught 16 of 17 targets vs. Detroit's secondary. SNYtv's Connor Hughes says it's the best any receiver has looked in camp since he started covering the Giants and Jets in 2014. That stretch has included Odell Beckham, Brandon Marshall, and Garrett Wilson.
"Malik Nabers is absolutely absurd," Hughes said. "I have never seen a receiver, rookie or veteran, perform the way that Nabers has to start this summer. ... Everything that is thrown this guy's way, he is catching. ... The hype on this kid, it is justified."
It's been impossible to ignore the buzz on Nabers from anyone who attends Giants camp. He's consistently been the best player on the field, creating big separation and making contested grabs.
QB play remains a concern for the rookie, but he might be so good that it doesn't matter. Especially if he's going to dominate targets (which he likely will).
Nabers continues to climb our rankings. We just bumped up his baseline and ceiling projections, moving him from 21st to 19th in the WR rankings.
