The Raiders placed WR Michael Gallup on the reserve/retired list. Gallup signed a one-year deal – with less than $1 million in guarantees – back in April.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Gallup's career ends with 3,744 yards and 21 TDs across 86 games.
He projected to win Vegas’ WR3 role behind Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers. Now, second-year man Tre Tucker is in position to benefit from Gallup’s retirement.
Tucker flashed with a couple of big plays as a rookie, finishing at 19-331-2 (17.4 yards per catch). Before that, the Round 3 pick tallied explosive testing numbers: a 4.40 forty time, a 1.48 ten-yard split, and a 37.5-inch vertical.
There’s not a huge fantasy ceiling in Vegas, even removing Gallup. It projects as one of the league’s worst QB situations (Gardner Minshew or Aidan O'Connell). Plus, they project for low pass volume under HC Antonio Pierce and OC Luke Getsy.
Oh -- and let's not forget the selection of TE/WR Brock Bowers in Round 1 of the '24 draft...
Head to the fantasy WR rankings to see Tucker's new spot. Note: He’s already a factor in return yardage leagues, where he’s a prime candidate to contribute on kicks and/or punts.
Other Winners & Losers
Vegas' WR depth turns up names like DJ Turner, Jalen Guyton, and Kristian Wilkerson. So don't be surprised if the team adds a couple of depth pieces this summer.
Again, given the offensive environment, we're unlikely to see a fantasy sleeper candidate emerge behind Tucker.
