Per Jordan Schultz, the Miami Dolphins have signed DE Emmanuel Ogbah. The signing comes only a few days after DE Shaq Barrett abruptly retired. Ogbah had 24.5 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, and 1 INT in his previous four seasons with the Dolphins.

2024 Fantasy Football Impact
This is a short term deal, with Ogbah signing a one-year deal worth up to a maximum of $5 million.
Ogbah had 5.5 sacks last season playing in a rotational role, showing that he still can produce sacks and pressures when given an opportunity.
He was released by the Dolphins early in the offseason. They then signed Shaq Barrett in March to fill the void and potentially upgrade from Ogbah. But when Barrett shockingly retired only four months after signing with the Dolphins, they immediately explored other options before camp to fill that void.
Ogbah had nine sacks in both 2020 and 2021 with the Dolphins before injuries derailed his 2022 season. Now entering his 31-year-old season, Ogbah has likely lost a step and is unlikely to match those career highs again.
Other Winners & Losers
The biggest impact is on the Dolphins' young pass rushers.
In April's NFL Draft, the Dolphins selected Penn State DE Chop Robinson while also having Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips on the roster.
The heavy rotation makes it unlikely that any of the Dolphins' pass rushers have a huge statistical impact. They are unlikely to pay dividends as IDP starters.
