Bengals QB Joe Burrow (wrist) has been fully cleared for the start of training camp, HC Zac Taylor said Monday. Burrow's 2023 season ended in November with an injury to his right, throwing wrist that required surgery. He resumed throwing early this year and participated in May's OTAs.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Burrow's injury was rather unique, and we've heard some concerns from medical professionals that it could still be a factor in 2024. But everything out of Cincinnati has been positive.
Burrow's coaches and teammates were impressed by how he was throwing back in May. And NFL Network's Bridget Condon reported in June that the team was comfortable with Burrow's health heading into this season.
Unless we see or hear otherwise, we're considering the wrist injury a non-factor in 2024. Burrow is a fine value at his current late-sixth-round ADP. We've seen him slip into the seventh and even eighth round in best-ball drafts.
Other Winners & Losers
A healthy Burrow is obviously excellent news for WRs Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins and the rest of Cincinnati's skill-position players. Barring another Burrow injury, this offense has the potential to jump back into the top five this year. That would turn most of the Bengals into strong fantasy picks at current cost.
