NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo will have surgery in the coming days to repair a torn capsule in his right (throwing) shoulder. Garoppolo then won’t be able to throw for 16 weeks, “but should be ready for the season if all goes well.” That nearly 4-month window would make it late June or early July before Garoppolo can even resume throwing.
