The Panthers signed QB Cam Newton to a 1-year deal. As you may recall, the Patriots released Newton back in training camp amid a shaky summer. Some speculated that Newton’s vaccination status also played a role in the team’s decision-making, although the 32-year-old has since been vaccinated. P.J. Walker will start Sunday at Carolina, but it’s possible Newton takes over from there. And with an ineffective and injured Sam Darnold (shoulder) out 4-6 weeks, Newton might have a chance to keep the starting gig for the remainder of 2021. Cam should at least keep this offense afloat, but our fantasy expectations aren’t high for him. He's only worth an add in 2-QB leagues.
