Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that Bills QB Josh Allen's right elbow injury is "considered a situation to monitor rather than an ailment that would keep him out" of Sunday's game vs. the Vikings. Allen is still undergoing tests on the elbow to get a more concrete diagnosis. We'll continue to keep you updated on his status.
Bills EDGE Gregory Rousseau suffered an ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Jets and is considered week to week, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That puts Rousseau in doubt for Sunday's game against the Vikings. We'll keep an eye on his status this week.
Bills QB Josh Allen endured a poor passing performance in Sunday's loss to the Jets. He threw for just 205 yards on 18-of-34 passing (52.9%), taking 5 sacks and flinging 2 INTs. Allen salvaged his fantasy line with 86 yards and 2 TDs rushing, though. That marked his largest rushing total since Week 14 of last season and 6th career game with multiple ground scores. WR Stefon Diggs posted a 5-93 receiving line on 10 targets as the only Bill with more than 33 receiving yards. WR Gabriel Davis hit that total on 2 catches among 5 targets. TE Dawson Knox caught 3 of 4 looks for 25 yards. Allen and his receivers get a softer Vikings defense back home in Week 10.
Bills EDGE Gregory Rousseau left Sunday's loss to the Jets with an ankle injury. We'll see about the severity this week.
Bills QB Josh Allen appeared to injure his right (throwing) elbow near the end of Sunday's loss to the Jets. “There was some slight pain, but I’ll get through it," Allen said afterward. We'll obviously keep a close eye on the situation this coming week. The Bills host the Vikings next Sunday.
Patriots RB Damien Harris (illness) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Colts. RB Kevin Harris is a healthy scratch, leaving RBs Pierre Strong and J.J. Taylor behind workhorse Rhamondre Stevenson.
As expected, Bills LB Matt Milano (oblique) is inactive for today's game against the Jets. Rookie Terrel Bernard is expected to start in his place.
Bills LB Matt Milano (oblique) is not expected to play today against the Jets, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That would leave rookie Terrel Bernard starting in his place. Milano's absence is good news for Jets RB Michael Carter and TE Tyler Conklin. He is Buffalo's best LB, especially in coverage. We have removed Milano from our Week 9 IDP rankings.
ESPN's Adam Schefter calls Patriots RB Damien Harris "unlikely" to play vs. the Colts today due to his illness. It's a bit of a surprise after Harris was able to return to a limited practice on Friday -- but Schefter almost never misses on these early-Sunday reports. Harris' absence would put RB Rhamondre Stevenson back in a workhorse role. He racked up 19 carries and 5 targets when Harris missed Week 6.
Patriots RB Damien Harris (illness) is questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Colts after getting in just a limited practice on Friday. We’re expecting him to play on Sunday, but it’s certainly possible that his volume and/or effectiveness is impacted. Harris is a TD-dependent fantasy play. Rhamondre Stevenson should lead the backfield in touches again.
Patriots RB Damien Harris (illness) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. Players almost always play through illnesses -- but we just saw Raiders WR Davante Adams struggle playing through the flu last week. We'll get another update on Harris tomorrow.
Bills rookie RB James Cook played his 2nd most snaps of the season and garnered his 2nd largest touch count in Sunday night's win over the Packers. he ran for 35 yards on 5 carries and caught a 41-yard pass while playing 25% of Buffalo's offensive snaps. The only game that has seen more snaps or touches for Cook was the 41-7 Week 2 win over Tennessee that allowed him to clean up in garbage time. RB Devin Singletary operated as the clear backfield leader, posting a 14-67 rushing line and adding a 16-yard catch while playing nearly 3 times as many snaps as Cook. RB Zack Moss was active but did not see the field. There's room for Cook to pick up some touches over the 2nd half of the season, especially in games that find the Bills jumping to large leads. He also looks like the clear #2 now, should anything happen to Singletary. Cook should be rostered in most fantasy football leagues of 12+ teams. He's available in 74% of ESPN leagues as of this writing.
Bills QB Josh Allen had an uncharacteristically mediocre passing night in Sunday's win over the Packers. He completed just 13 of 25 passes (52%) for 218 yards, throwing 2 TD and 2 INTs. The 2nd was particularly bad. Allen was clearly trying to throw the ball away into the ground but put it at the feet of Green Bay's top corner, Jaire Alexander, allowing him to make a diving INT near the Packers goal line. Allen nearly made up for it on the ground, with 49 yards on 6 attempts but came up short of the end zone on a 1st-quarter run that preceded TE Dawson Knox's TD catch. Buffalo gets the Jets, Vikings, Browns and Lions ahead of a Week 13 visit to New England.
Browns WR Amari Cooper snagged 3 of 4 targets for 74 yards in Week 7. He seemed to be on his way to a big day after hauling in a 55-yard deep ball in the 1st quarter. Yet in total, he saw just a 14.8% target share. Cooper's still racked up 70+ yards in 4 of his past 6 matchups. And Cleveland’s game script could force more passing than desired this week against the surging Bengals.
Patriots RB Damien Harris (hamstring) is off the final injury report for Monday night's game against the Bears. That should mean he's ready to split the carries with Rhamondre Stevenson once again. New England heads into the game as an 8-point favorite, so there should be plenty of rushing work to support both backs in fantasy football lineups. We'll see if the split gets back to what it was before Harris' injury.
Raiders WR Mack Hollins (heel) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Texans. We haven't heard any concern about his availability for that one, but you'll need to check back around 2:30 pm ET on Sunday for Vegas' inactives if you're hoping to use Hollins.
Patriots RB Damien Harris (hamstring) put in another full practice on Friday. He remains on track to return for Monday night's game vs. the Bears.
Patriots RB Damien Harris (hamstring) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. That puts him on track to return for Monday night's game vs. the Bears. Expect New England to revert back to a rotation with Harris and RB Rhamondre Stevenson. In their last 3 healthy games together, Harris out-carried Stevenson 44 to 35, with Stevenson holding a 12 to 6 edge in targets.
Bills QB Josh Allen wound up with 329 yards and 3 TDs passing in Sunday's victory at Kansas City. He completed 27 of 40 throws (67.5%), finding WR Stefon Diggs, WR Gabriel Davis and TE Dawson Knox for TDs. Allen added 32 rushing yards on 12 attempts. He sits 3rd among fantasy QBs for the week, with the Monday night game yet to go.
Browns WR Amari Cooper caught 4 balls for 44 yards and Cleveland's only TD in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. He drew 12 targets, a 26.7% share and double the total of his nearest teammate. The Browns get an upside passing matchup vs. Baltimore in Week 7.
