Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (knee, shoulder) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said this morning that McConkey is "in doubt" for Sunday night's game vs. the Chiefs, but getting on the field this early in the week is encouraging. We'll update McConkey's status again on Thursday.
Chargers WR Ladd McConkey is "in doubt" for Sunday night's game vs. the Chiefs, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. McConkey suffered a knee sprain in the Week 13 win over the Falcons, in addition to the AC joint sprain in his shoulder that he's been playing through, per Rapoport. Neither is a "major injury," Rapoport adds. We'll track McConkey's status over the next few days, but fantasy owners should at least be lining up alternatives for Week 14. McConkey's absence would be a big loss for the Chargers. He leads the team in targets (81), catches (58), and receiving yards (815).
Chargers WR Ladd McConkey went off for 9 catches and 117 yards in Sunday's win over Atlanta. The rookie saw a team-high 12 targets.
Chargers WR Ladd McConkey suffered a knee injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Falcons. He's officially questionable to return. McConkey had a huge outing before the injury, catching nine of 11 targets for 117 yards. We'll update his status when we know more.
Chargers RB J.K. Dobbins (knee) has been placed on IR. Dobbins is dealing with an MCL sprain and will now miss at least the next four games. He'll be eligible to return for Week 17's meeting vs. the Patriots. You could keep Dobbins stashed for that one, but he's droppable if you're in a pinch. Dobbins' absence should leave RB Gus Edwards as Los Angeles' lead ball carrier, but we're expecting him to cede most passing-down snaps to RBs Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal.
Chargers TE Will Dissly (groin) is not listed on the final Week 13 injury report. He was sidelined on Wednesday but progressed to a limited practice on Thursday and a full practice on Friday. Dissly remains a viable low-end TE1 option against the Falcons’ 14th-ranked TE defense.
Chargers RB J.K. Dobbins (knee) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Falcons. We don’t have a timetable for his return, but it wouldn’t be at all surprising if he misses multiple games. Dobbins’ absence figures to leave Gus Edwards as Los Angeles’ lead runner this weekend, but he’ll cede passing-down work to RBs Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal.
Chargers TE Will Dissly (groin) did not practice on Wednesday. We don't have any other details on the groin issue after Dissly seemed to make it out of Monday night's loss to the Ravens okay. We'll see if he gets back on the practice field tomorrow.
Chargers RB J.K. Dobbins will miss time with a knee sprain he suffered in Monday night's loss to the Ravens, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "He’s out this week against the Falcons and up in the air after that," Rapoport adds. We'll look for more details on Dobbins' injury and timeline for return, but it sounds like there's a chance he misses multiple games. We'd try to keep Dobbins stashed on fantasy benches for now. His absence leaves RB Gus Edwards as the Chargers' lead runner vs. Atlanta this weekend. We're expecting RB Hassan Haskins to mix in on early downs and RB Kimani Vidal to handle most of the passing downs.
Chargers RB J.K. Dobbins injured his left knee in the first half of Monday night's game vs. the Ravens. He was initially deemed questionable to return before being ruled out during the second half. Dobbins had a large brace on the injured knee, according to the ESPN broadcast. This is the same left knee in which Dobbins tore multiple ligaments in August 2021. We'll update his status as soon as we know more. Dobbins' absence would leave Gus Edwards as the Chargers' lead ball carrier. RB Hassan Haskins could see a bit more work on early downs, while RB Kimani Vidal would be the favorite for primary pass-catching duties.
Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (shoulder) is active for tonight's game vs. the Ravens. He got in just two limited practices this week and was listed as questionable, but we never sensed any real concern about his availability for this one. We're expecting McConkey to play his usual role tonight.
Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Ravens. He only got in limited practices on Friday and Saturday. McConkey played through this issue last week, and we've heard nothing to suggest that he's in danger of missing the Monday nighter. But the late kickoff obviously puts fantasy managers in a tough spot. WRs Josh Palmer and Rashod Bateman are serviceable backup options from this game if you're planning to start McConkey and he ends up inactive.
Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (shoulder) returned to a limited practice on Friday. That should put him on track to play against the Raves on Monday night, but we'll see how McConkey is listed on the final injury report tomorrow afternoon.
Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (shoulder) did not practice on Thursday. He banged his shoulder in last week's game vs. the Bengals but was able to return. We're tentatively expecting him to play vs. the Ravens on Monday night, but we'll keep you updated on his status over the next few days.
Chargers RB J.K. Dobbins delivered a pair of TD runs in Sunday night's win over the Bengals, scoring from 1 yard out in the second quarter and then delivering the game winner from 29 yards out with 18 seconds left in regulation. He did so on just 11 carries, however, and added one 3-yard catch on his lone target.
Chargers QB Justin Herbert started hot in Sunday night's win over the Bengals. He completed 10 of 14 passes for 183 yards and 2 TDs before halftime, adding 58 yards on 4 rushes. The second half went quite differently, though. Herbert completed only seven of 22 attempts for 104 more yards, plus a 7-yard carry. The result, at least, was his fourth straight game with 2 total TDs and his fourth game among the past five with at least 279 passing yards.
Chargers Edge Khalil Mack is inactive for tonight's game against the Bengals. That's no shock after he missed all practices the past two weeks and managed to play just four snaps last week. Mack's absence can only help the playing time for Tuli Tulipulotu and Bud Dupree.
Chargers Edge Khalil Mack is questionable for the second straight week thanks to a groin injury that kept him out of practice once again. Mack missed all three practices last week before playing through a "questionable" tag last week. He made it through just 4 snaps in that game. Edge Joey Bosa, meanwhile, put in his first full practice since Week 3 on Friday and is off the final injury report for the first time since that week as well. He said Friday that they plan to increase his playing time from the 19-20 snaps of the past three games to "about 30, 30-plus."
Chargers Edge Khalil Mack was active for Sunday's win over the Titans ... but only barely. He managed just 4 snaps after entering the contest questionable with a groin injury.
Chargers RB Gus Edwards (ankle) rushed 10 times for 55 yards in his first game action since Week 4. He was out-snapped by J.K. Dobbins, 39-14, and out-carried by 5.
