Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
The Steelers on Monday placed EDGE T.J. Watt on the COVID list. We have yet to see any details on Watt's situation, so it's not yet clear whether he has a chance to be activated ahead of Sunday's game against the Ravens. Make sure you have Watt insurance on your IDP roster for Week 13.
Update: ESPN's Brooke Pryor reports that Watt did test positive, which will make it tough for him to get activated ahead of Sunday's game against Baltimore. It's not yet clear whether Watt is vaccinated (which would help his chances of returning sooner).
Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. He was limited in practice all week and was reportedly a game-time decision coming off the high-ankle sprain. C-Patt carries elevated risk in Week 12 fantasy lineups.
Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) is a "true game-time decision" for today's tilt with the Jaguars, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Patterson is "feeling much better this week," per Rapoport, but the Falcons are "making sure they are smart about it." We'll get Atlanta's inactives around 11:30 am ET.
Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars. He supposedly had a chance to play vs. New England last Thursday night and put in 3 limited practices this week, so we're tentatively expecting Patterson to play. We'll get Atlanta's inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.
Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) put in a limited practice on Wednesday. He seemingly had at least an outside chance of playing vs. the Patriots last Thursday night, so a return for this weekend's game vs. the Jaguars seems doable. We'll update Patterson's progress again tomorrow.
Steelers HC Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that he expects to get EDGE T.J. Watt (knee), S Minkah Fitzpatrick (COVID), CB Joe Haden (foot) and DL Isaiahh Loudermilk (groin) back for Sunday's game against the Bengals, NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala reports. That's good news for both the Pittsburgh defense and IDP owners. It's a positive scoring matchup for Watt and the Steelers DBs.
After scoring a TD for the 2nd straight game (this time off an INT), Eagles CB Darius Slay left Sunday's win over the Saints with a concussion. He'll need to pass through the league protocol before returning to game action. Philly visits the Giants next Sunday.
The Steelers have ruled EDGE T.J. Watt out for Sunday night's game against the Chargers. He suffered hip and knee injuries in the Week 10 tie with Detroit and didn't practice this week. We'll see whether Watt can make it back for Week 12. Pittsburgh also ruled out lead CB Joe Haden, good news for Chargers WR Mike Williams.
Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) is inactive for tonight's game vs. the Patriots. It would have been surprising if he'd been able to play just 4 days after suffering what's believed to be a mild high-ankle sprain. Patterson did get in a couple of limited practices this week, so a Week 12 return seems possible. His absence tonight leaves Atlanta's backfield to Mike Davis and Wayne Gallman. We're betting on Davis leading the way in touches, but it's a murky situation (and a bad running game in general).
Steelers HC Mike Tomlin said his team is operating under the assumption that QB Mason Rudolph will start Sunday night's game vs. the Chargers. QB Ben Roethlisberger has a chance to come off the COVID list ahead of that game, but it sounds like it's unlikely. Rudolph was a disaster in last week's tie vs. the Lions, averaging 4.8 yards per pass attempt.
Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) was limited again on Wednesday and is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game vs. the Patriots. HC Arthur Smith said that Patterson will be a game-time decision. We'd be surprised if he played if he's truly dealing with a high-ankle sprain as has been speculated. Patterson would come with elevated risk in fantasy lineups if he does end up active.
Falcons WR Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) got in a limited practice on Tuesday. That at least gives him a shot to play vs. the Patriots on Thursday night. We'll see what he does in Wednesday's practice and how he's listed on the final injury report.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson could miss "a couple weeks" with the ankle injury he suffered in the loss to Dallas. Former head team Dr. David Chao believes Patterson has a high-ankle sprain based on video review. If that's the case, a couple weeks would be the best-case scenario. Plan on Patterson at least missing Thursday night's game vs. the Patriots. We'll see when he's able to return from there. His absence will leave Atlanta's backfield to Mike Davis and Wayne Gallman.
Steelers S Minkah Fitzpatrick has tested positive for COVID, putting his Week 11 status in doubt. The specifics of his case aren't yet clear for us to know whether he has a chance to make it back for next Sunday night's visit to the Chargers. If Fitzpatrick isn't vaccinated, he'll need to sit out for at least 10 days.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that tests on the knee and hip injuries for Steelers EDGE T.J. Watt came back negative. "It is uncertain how much, if any, time Watt will miss," Schefter added. This is obviously good news if Watt resides on your IDP roster, as it sounds like there's a chance he won't miss any further game action. We'll watch how he progresses through the week. Derrek Tuszka served as the primary fill-in after Watt left Sunday's game.
Steelers EDGE T.J. Watt left Sunday's game against the Lions with knee and hip injuries. He'll undergo further testing to determine the extent.
Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson injured his ankle in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys. He eventually re-entered but had that ankle re-taped multiple times and finished with just 4 carries and 2 targets. Patterson's status will be worth monitoring this coming week.
Ravens HC John Harbaugh said after Sunday's win over the Vikings that S DeShon Elliott suffered a torn pectoral muscle and a torn biceps, according to Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun. That will end Elliott's season. Brandon Stephens figures to step into Elliott's role.
Steelers K Chris Boswell (concussion) isn't listed on the final Week 9 injury report. He'll be available for Pittsburgh and your fantasy team on Monday night vs. the Bears.
Steelers K Chris Boswell (concussion) put in a full practice on Friday. We'll get Pittsburgh's final injury report tomorrow, but it looks like Boswell will be available for Monday night's game vs. the Bears.
