Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) got in a limited practice on Thursday. The New York media expects him to return for Monday night's game vs. the Bucs, but we'll continue to keep an eye on his progress over the next couple of days.
Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday. We'll continue to monitor his progress through the protocol, but fantasy owners can't be counting on Goedert in Week 11 lineups.
The New York Daily News' Pat Leonard believes Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is "trending toward" a return vs. the Bucs next Monday night. Barkley was out on the field Monday for the team's post-bye-week practice. He'll be 5 weeks removed from the ankle injury come next Monday. We'll track his practice participation this week.
Eagles TE Dallas Goedert sustained a potential concussion in the 1st half of Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. He took a big hit at the end of a 24-yard catch and eventually headed back to the locker room with trainers. We'll update Goedert's status when we know more.
Update: Goedert has been ruled out with a concussion.
Broncos TE Albert Okwuegbunam (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Eagles. He’s not a fantasy option but figures to steal a few targets from TE Noah Fant.
The Titans have placed WR Julio Jones on IR for the hamstring he injured in Friday's practice. That knocks him out for at least the next 3 games, starting with Sunday's matchup with New Orleans. His absence can only help the target outlook for A.J. Brown, who was already dominating on that ront. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Chester Rogers were the next 2 WRs in playing time last week against the Rams, with nearly identical snap totals. Marcus Johnson trailed behind them. We also might see more work for a TE group with Geoff Swaim and Anthony Firkser at the front. The hamstring has been a nagging issue for Jones through most of the season. We'll see if this IR stint can shake it and make him a factor by fantasy playoff time.
Broncos TE Albert Okwuegbunam (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Eagles after getting in 2 limited practices this week. His absence would be a boost to TE Noah Fant’s outlook. Fant has averaged 8 targets per game without Okwuegbunam this season vs. 5.3 with him.
Titans WR Julio Jones (hamstring) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Saints. Jones started the week off the injury report. But he was added back and limited on Thursday before missing Friday’s practice. That has him looking unlikely to play on Sunday -- and very tough to trust in fantasy lineups if he does.
Titans WR Julio Jones (hamstring) was added back to the injury report and limited in practice on Thursday. ESPN's Turron Davenport saw Jones appear to tweak the hamstring on a route early in practice. Jones' availability for Sunday's game vs. the Saints is now uncertain. Check back tomorrow for another update.
Titans WR A.J. Brown (knee) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Rams. He was added to the injury report and did not practice on Friday, but we heard this morning that Brown would be “fine” for this game. Get him in fantasy lineups if you waited on him.
Broncos TE Albert Okwuegbunam is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys. He was questionable coming into the game with a knee, although it's unclear if this is related. Stay tuned for an update.
Broncos TE Albert Okwuegbunam (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Cowboys. He was limited in practice all week, but we never heard any concern about his availability for this one. With TE Noah Fant (COVID) out, Okwuegbunam is a viable Week 9 spot starter.
Titans WR A.J. Brown (knee) "should be fine" for Sunday night's game vs. the Rams, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Brown is listed as questionable after being added to the injury report and sidelined on Friday. We won't get his game status until around 7 pm ET tonight, but it sounds like he can be penciled into fantasy lineups.
Broncos TE Albert Okwuegbunam (knee) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. We haven't heard any concern about his status, but you'll need to make sure he's active on Sunday if you're planning on using him in Week 9 fantasy lineups.
Titans WR Julio Jones (hamstring) was limited in practice all week but isn’t listed on the final injury report. He confirmed on Friday that he’ll play vs. the Rams on Sunday night. Jones hasn’t topped a 66% snap share since Week 2. He’ll remain a risky fantasy option until we see him make it through a game healthy.
Titans WR A.J. Brown (knee) was added to the injury report and did not practice on Friday. He's listed as questionable for Sunday night's game vs. the Rams. We'll look for further updates on his status. The late kickoff could make this a tricky situation for fantasy owners.
The Dolphins placed WR DeVante Parker on IR after he suffered a setback with his hamstring injury in practice this week, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. So he'll miss at least the next 3 games vs. the Texans, Ravens and Jets. We'll see if Parker is ready come Week 12, but he's certainly not a must-stash on fantasy rosters. WR Jaylen Waddle and TE Mike Gesicki both get target boosts with Parker out.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is out for Sunday’s game against the Raiders. He’ll get a Week 10 bye and hopefully be ready to go come Week 11. Devontae Booker gets another start this weekend and is a solid RB2 in fantasy lineups.
Dolphins WR DeVante Parker had a setback in practice this week and will be listed as doubtful for Sunday's game vs. the Texans, HC Brian Flores said. It's unclear if Parker's setback was to his shoulder or hamstring. He's seen nice volume when on the field this season but hasn't been able to stay healthy. Parker's absence on Sunday boosts the volume projections for WR Jaylen Waddle and TE Mike Gesicki.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley returned to the team on Friday morning after it was deemed that his initial COVID test was a false positive, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports. So we can put that concern to bed. But Barkley's Week 9 status remains uncertain due to his ankle injury. We'll have a better idea of his status this afternoon.
