Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Vikings RB Aaron Jones (ribs) is not listed on the final injury report for Sunday’s game vs. the Titans. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday, so it doesn’t seem like the rib injury will be a factor. Jones is safe to keep in Week 11 fantasy lineups.
Vikings RB Aaron Jones (ribs) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. It's confirmation that he's on track to be ready for this weekend's game vs. the Titans. Jones currently checks in 16th among RBs in the Week 11 PPR Rankings.
Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy underwent a second surgery on his right knee earlier this week, HC Kevin O'Connell said Wednesday. McCarthy originally went under the knife on August 14 to repair a torn meniscus. According to ESPN's Kevin Seifert, this latest procedure was a "biologic injection" to address swelling in the knee that developed during the rehab process. McCarthy's recovery timeline has not changed, meaning he's still expected to be ready for the 2025 campaign. This sounds like a minor footnote in McCarthy's story, but we'll continue to keep an eye on his rehab. He remains a strong dynasty stash in this O'Connell-led passing game.
Vikings HC Kevin O'Connell said Monday that he expects RB Aaron Jones (ribs) to be ready for this weekend's game vs. the Titans. Jones missed most of the second half of the Week 10 win over the Jaguars but was able to return late in the fourth quarter. He'll likely be limited in practice this week, but he can stay penciled into Week 11 fantasy lineups for now.
Vikings RB Aaron Jones suffered an apparent rib injury in the third quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars. We'll update his status when we know more. Jones' absence leaves Minnesota's backfield to RBs Cam Akers and Ty Chandler.
Update: Jones is officially questionable to return with a chest injury.
Update: Jones returned late in the fourth quarter.
Giants QB Daniel Jones struggled throwing the football, ending up completing 22-of-37 passes for 190 yards and two INTs. He did find success rushing the ball, running seven times for 26 yards and a TD. Against the weak Panthers defense, these numbers are extremely disappointing.
Vikings LBs Blake Cashman and Ivan Pace Jr. are both active for today's game against the Jaguars. It'll be Cashman's first action since Week 5, after he went inactive for the past three games. Pace played no more than 69% of snaps in any of the three games he shared with Cashman earlier this year but saw full playing time in the three contests Cashman missed. That leaves some uncertainty on the snap outlooks for both players today. I have them projected for even playing time against a Jaguars offense that could easily support full-time work for two LBs today.
Vikings K Will Reichard is expected to miss at least this weekend's game vs. the Jaguars with a quad strain, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Minnesota is signing K John Parker Romo to fill in for Reichard. The former undrafted free agent has yet to attempt an NFL kick. The Vikings have a 25.75-point implied total this weekend, but we'd shy away from using Romo in fantasy lineups in his NFL debut.
Update: Reichard will be placed on IR, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He'll miss at least the next four games and can be dropped from fantasy rosters.
Giants QB Daniel Jones threw a pair of TD passes and ran for a score in Sunday's loss to the Commanders. Jones rushed seven times for 54 yards, including a 2-yard TD in the fourth quarter. He added 174 yards passing, with no INTs, 2 sacks taken, and one fumble.
Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson (knee) put in a full week of practice and is not listed on the final injury report. He’ll make his 2024 debut vs. the Colts’ 28th-ranked TE defense on Sunday night. Minnesota’s coaching staff hinted earlier this week that Hockenson will play something close to his usual role. He checks in 13th in our Week 9 TE Rankings.
Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice and is fully expected to make his 2024 debut vs. the Colts on Sunday night. The question now is how much he'll play in his first game since tearing his ACL and MCL last December. HC Kevin O'Connell and OC Wes Phillips both said this week that Hockenson should be ready for something close to a full workload.
Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson has been downgraded to out for tonight's game vs. the Rams. He's been practicing for a couple of weeks now and seems very close to making his 2024 debut. We're expecting him to play vs. the Colts in Week 9, although there's still a decent chance he's on a snap count in that one.
The Vikings have ruled LB Blake Cashman out for the second straight game with a toe injury. His absence means full playing time for LB Ivan Pace Jr. No other non-edge Minnesota LB played more than 16% of defensive snaps last week, though. We'll see about Cashman's outlook for a Week 9 home date with the Colts.
Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson (knee) is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game vs. the Rams. He was limited in practice all week. Fox Sports' Jay Glazer suggested this past Sunday morning that Hockenson was tracking toward returning for this one, but his status remains uncertain for now. Even if Hockenson does play, we'd expect him to be on some type of snap count in his first action since last December's multi-ligament knee injury. The matchup is good, though, against the Rams' 23rd-ranked TE defense. So desperate fantasy owners could certainly do worse than giving Hockenson a shot if he plays.
The Giants pulled QB Daniel Jones for the fourth quarter of Sunday's lopsided loss to the Eagles. He completed 14 of 21 passes for just 99 yards while taking 7 sacks before that departure. Drew Lock entered to go 3-for-8 with 6 yards passing.
Vikings RB Aaron Jones ran 14 times for 93 yards (6.6 YPC) and a TD in the Week 7 loss to the Lions. He added 23 more yards on three catches. Jones went un-touched for the game's opening TD from 34 yards out on a well-blocked play. He had four other runs of 8+ yards. The 93 total rushing yards were 13 more than any other RB has tallied vs. Detroit this season. The Lions entered Week 7 allowing just 3.6 yards per carry to RBs.
Vikings RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) is active for today’s game vs. the Lions. The hamstring adds some risk to his fantasy profile, and the matchup is tough against the league’s second-ranked RB defense. But Jones still sits 12th in the Week 7 RB Rankings, thanks largely to his strong pass-catching role.
Vikings RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) is expected to play vs. the Lions today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Jones got in just two limited practices this week and is listed as questionable. He also draws Detroit's second-ranked RB defense, so he's not as strong a fantasy play as usual. Still, Jones checks in 12th in the Week 7 RB Rankings.
Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson (knee) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game vs. the Lions. He was never likely to play in this one off just four limited practices. We'll see if Hockenson is ready to make his 2024 debut against the Rams on Thursday night, but Week 9 might be a more realistic target.
Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Lions. He got in three limited practices this week, after returning to practice last Friday. We’re not expecting Hockenson to play in this one but will get Minnesota’s inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.
