Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Dolphins Edge Jaelan Phillips (oblique) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants. He managed limited practices all week after missing last Sunday's loss in Buffalo. The Palm Beach Post reports that Phillips "said he's not 100 percent but is confident he's healthy enough to help the team." If he's active, Phillips belongs in IDP lineups against the Giants. S DeShon Elliott (groin) is off the final injury report and ready to return after missing Week 4.
Bills S Jordan Poyer (knee) is off the final injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Jaguars. That means he's ready to return after missing last week's game. CB Christian Benford (shoulder) is questionable after leaving Week 4 early. He was limited in practice all week.
Dolphins Edge Jaelan Phillips put in limited practices Wednesday and Thursday. That's progress after he missed practice all last week with an oblique injury that cost him the Buffalo game. We'll see Friday about Phillips' game outlook. Meanwhile, S DeShon Elliott (groin) graduated to a full Thursday practice. He spent all last week limited before missing the game and then remained limited Wednesday.
Bills S Jordan Poyer followed a limited Wednesday practice with full participation Thursday. That seems to put him on track to play Sunday against the Jaguars in London. Poyer missed the Week 4 win over the Dolphins with a knee injury. We'll watch his status the rest of the week.
Dolphins RB De'Von Achane scored twice in a Week 4 loss to Buffalo. In fact, Achane scored on his first two carries. He added 5 targets, tied for second-most and a 14.2% team share. On the ground, he led the way with 7 attempts – one more than Raheem Mostert. The takeaway here is that Achane continues to be used creatively, and it’s clear his speed will be a weekly part of the game plan. Fire him up as an RB2 for Sunday’s matchup vs. the Giants.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill managed only 3 grabs for 58 yards in Sunday's loss to Buffalo. Credit a tough Bills defense for dialing up pressure on Tua Tagovailoa, limiting Hill's opportunities. His 5 targets marked his fewest since Week 3 of last season (vs. Buffalo). Look for a rebound next week at home vs. the Giants, who will play on short rest.
Dolphins RB De'Von Achane "has earned an increased workload," according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. A 233-yard, four-TD performance should certainly earn a bigger role. Schefter adds that Miami "is expected to try to use him more" vs. the Bills today. We'll see exactly what the split between Achane and RB Raheem Mostert looks like, but the rookie would be tough to leave out of fantasy lineups after the huge Week 3.
The Dolphins have ruled Edge Jaelan Phillips (oblique) out for Sunday's game against the Bills. His absence will mean more playing time for Edge Andrew Van Ginkel. When Philips missed Week 2, Van Ginkel played 88% of snaps and delivered 6 tackles, 1 sack, 3 QB hits, and 1 pass deflection. He has climbed into DL2 territory in our Week 4 DL rankings. Edge Emmanuel Ogbah also figures to get more playing time. He has yet to play more than 23 snaps in a game this season, though, and doesn't deserve consideration in most IDP leagues.
The Bills have ruled S Jordan Poyer (knee) out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. That's not awesome news for Buffalo's defense against a team that already had Tyreek Hill and now returns Jaylen Waddle from a concussion. Taylor Rapp looks like the fill-in for Poyer and could see more tackle opportunities than the Bills would like. See where Rapp sits in our Week 4 DB rankings.
Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle has cleared concussion protocol, the team announced Thursday. He'll be back for this weekend's likely shootout vs. the Bills. See where Waddle sits in the Week 4 WR Rankings.
Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (concussion) will be a full participant in Wednesday's practice, HC Mike McDaniel said. Barring a setback, Waddle will return for this weekend's game vs. the Bills.
Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel said Monday that he's "very optimistic" about the progress WR Jaylen Waddle has made in the concussion protocol. Barring a setback, Waddle should return for Sunday's showdown vs. the Bills.
Dolphins Edge Jaelan Phillips left Sunday's win over the Broncos with an oblique injury. That's a new issue after he missed Week 2 with a back injury. HC Mike McDaniel said afterward that the team trainer "wasn't too worried," according to Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post. We'll see about Phillips' outlook for Week 4.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa was surgical in Week 3, completing 23 of 26 passes for 309 yards and 4 TDs. The Broncos missed a couple of key defenders, but they were simply dominated in this one. And that was with Tua missing Jaylen Waddle (concussion). His scores went to Tyreek Hill, Raheem Mostert, and Devon Achane. A top-3 fantasy QB on the year, Tua travels to Buffalo for Week 4.
Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert enjoyed a career day against the Broncos. Seeing 20 touches — including a career-high 7 catches — Mostert rolled up 142 total yards and 4 scores. He became the fifth RB in league history with more than one career game of four scores. Denver’s defense essentially didn’t show up in this one, as Miami’s O-line consistently opened up huge holes. The Fins raced out to a big lead and wound up winning 70-20. Devon Achane enjoyed a massive day, too, taking 18 carries for 203 yards and 3 scores, looking explosive in the process. Miami will face a much stiffer test Sunday at Buffalo, but Mostert will remain a strong fantasy option.
Dolphins Edge Jaelan Phillips is active for today's game against the Broncos. He missed Week 2 after hurting his back in Friday practice. But Phillips should return to IDP lineups today.
Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. He had been listed as questionable after returning to a limited practice on Friday, so Waddle is trending toward a Week 4 return. It'll be WRs Braxton Berrios, River Cracraft, Erik Ezukanma, Cedrick Wilson, and Robbie Chosen behind target-hog Tyreek Hill against Denver tomorrow.
Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (concussion) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Broncos. He missed the first two practices of the week but returned to a limited workout on Friday. That means he's made some progress through the protocol -- but still has multiple stages to pass through. We're still not expecting Waddle to play on Sunday but will keep you updated on his status.
Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (concussion) remained sidelined on Thursday. He now looks like a long shot to play vs. the Broncos this weekend. We'll see if Waddle is able to get back on the field tomorrow, but fantasy owners should not plan on having him in Week 3 lineups.
Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (concussion) won't practice on Wednesday, HC Mike McDaniel said. Waddle still has multiple stages of the protocol to work through and isn't looking like a good bet to play vs. the Broncos this weekend. We'll update his status again tomorrow.
