Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (ribs) did not practice on Wednesday. Smith-Schuster is considered "day to day" with bruised ribs but shouldn't be considered a lock to play vs. the Packers this weekend. We'll get another update on his status tomorrow.
Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster has been diagnosed with bruised ribs and is considered "day to day," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. We'll keep an eye on Smith-Schuster's practice participation this week, but it sounds like he has a chance to play vs. the Packers on Sunday.
Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster was knocked out of Sunday's game vs. the Bengals with a rib injury. We'll update his status when we know more.
Colts QB Carson Wentz (ankles) is active for today’s game against the Titans. He’ll be playing through sprains to both of his ankles. Expect his mobility to be limited and his accuracy to potentially be affected. Wentz is obviously an extremely shaky fantasy play.
Ravens WR Marquise Brown (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Lions. He only got in a limited practice on Friday and was listed as questionable. He was in the same boat last week, though, before playing 72% of Baltimore’s offensive snaps and posting a 6-113-1 line vs. the Chiefs. Brown remains an upside fantasy play vs. a bad Detroit defense.
Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins (ribs) is active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. He was a game-time decision and carries added risk in Week 3 fantasy lineups. Of course, Hopkins still boasts WR1 upside -- especially in this plus matchup.
Colts QB Carson Wentz will start vs. the Titans today, a source tells ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Wentz reportedly moved around well at Friday's practice -- although he was "heavily taped." It's safe to assume his mobility will be limited today. Wentz is a low-end QB2 in fantasy football.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Chiefs are "optimistic" DL Chris Jones will play today against the Chargers. He's officially questionable with a wrist injury but put in limited practices all week.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that a source had this to say about Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins' chances for Week 3: "Pretty confident he will play, but not 100 [percent he will]." We'll have to watch Hopkins right up until game time. And his injury will add risk even if he is active for the game. Keep that in mind as you're making your lineup decisions. We'll update the situation if we get more details closer to kickoff.
The Colts are "gearing [QB Carson Wentz] up to start" Sunday's game vs. the Titans, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It sounds like Wentz had an encouraging practice on Friday. Rapoport adds that a final decision might not come until pregame warmups. Wentz has turned in QB18 and QB21 weekly finishes so far -- and he's not a recommended Week 3 fantasy play on 2 bum ankles. But he's still probably better for the Colts' skill-position guys than QBs Jacob Eason and Brett Hundley.
Chiefs DL Chris Jones is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Chargers with a wrist injury. He put in limited practices all week, so we’d bet on Jones playing. But we’ll check his status Sunday
Ravens WR Marquise Brown (ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Lions after getting in only a limited practice on Friday. He was in the same boat last week before playing 72% of Baltimore’s offensive snaps and posting a 6-113-1 line vs. the Chiefs. Unless we hear otherwise, Brown is safe to get into Week 3 fantasy lineups.
Colts QBs Carson Wentz (ankles) will be a game-time decision for this weekend’s tilt vs. the Titans, HC Frank Reich said Friday. Wentz returned to practice on Friday after sitting out the previous 2 days. He shouldn’t be in your Week 3 fantasy plans -- but Wentz would be better than QBs Jacob Eason and Brett Hundley for Indy’s skill-position guys.
Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins (ribs) will be a game-day decision for Sunday's tilt with the Jaguars, HC Kliff Kingsbury said Friday. Hopkins didn't practice all week. He's missed just 2 games over his 8-year NFL career, so we wouldn't count Hopkins out of this one yet. We should get an update on his status on Sunday morning. Hopkins' absence would turn WRs Christian Kirk and Rondale Moore into near every-down players, alongside WR A.J. Green.
Texans S Justin Reid (knee) is inactive for tonight’s game against the Panthers. Houston lists Terrance Brooks as his backup.
Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins (ribs) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. We've yet to see any real concern about Hopkins' Week 3 status, but make sure to check back tomorrow afternoon for another update.
Ravens WR Marquise Brown (ankle) did not practice on Thursday. That comes after a limited practice on Wednesday. Brown played through the ankle injury last week, but it's possible that he suffered a setback. Or he just got Thursday off. We'll get another update on Brown's status tomorrow.
Colts WR Carson Wentz (ankles) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. He hasn't yet been ruled out for this weekend's game vs. the Titans -- but he's looking like a long shot. The Colts are reportedly considering rotating QBs Jacob Eason and Brett Hundley if Wentz is out.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero hears that there's "still hope" that Colts QB Carson Wentz (ankle) will be able to play vs. the Titans this weekend. Pelissero adds that it might come down to a game-time decision. Practice-squad QB Brett Hundley reportedly took most of the 1st-team reps in Wednesday's practice and might split snaps with QB Jacob Eason on Sunday if Wentz is out, per Pelissero. It's obviously a situation to avoid in fantasy lineups.
Texans S Justin Reid is questionable for Thursday night's game against the Panthers. Reid left Sunday's game early with a knee injury and then missed the 3 days of practice on this short week. We'll check his status ahead of game time. The short week should probably factor into your starting decision, though, even if he's active.
