Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Browns RB D'Ernest Johnson was placed on the COVID list on Monday. We'll see if he can get cleared in time for Sunday's finale vs. the Bengals. Johnson surprisingly out-snapped RB Nick Chubb 39 to 30 in the Week 17 loss to Pittsburgh but finished with just 14 yards on 6 touches. He'll be off the fantasy radar if RB Kareem Hunt returns from his ankle injury.
Lions WR Josh Reynolds and TE Brock Wright were activated from the COVID list on Monday. Both guys should be available for this weekend's finale vs. the Packers. WR Kalif Raymond remains on the COVID list for now.
The Jaguars on Friday placed CB Shaq Griffin on the COVID list. They also activated DE Josh Allen, LB Myles Jack and LB Damien Wilson, among others.
The Lions on Monday placed WR Josh Reynolds on the COVID list. Unless we learn that he's a close contact, this should knock Reynolds out of any Week 17 fantasy-lineup consideration -- even if he makes it back in time for the game.
Lions WRs Josh Reynolds (thigh) and Kalif Raymond (shoulder) are active for today's game vs. the Falcons. Neither is a recommended fantasy play with Tim Boyle under center.
Lions WRs Josh Reynolds (thigh) and Kalif Raymond (shoulder) are questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Falcons. Both guys got in 3 limited practices this week and figure to play on Sunday. But they carry more risk than usual -- to go along with their unexciting ceilings.
Bills WR Gabriel Davis has been placed on the COVID list. So both Davis and WR Cole Beasley will miss Sunday's pivotal game vs. the Patriots. That leaves Stefon Diggs and Emmanuel Sanders as Buffalo's top 2 WRs, with Isaiah McKenzie likely handling #3 duties. TE Dawson Knox should also play an even bigger role than usual. It's a tough spot for QB Josh Allen against a strong New England defense.
Jaguars DE Josh Allen has tested positive for COVID. That will knock him out for Sunday's game against the Jets.
The Jaguars fired HC Urban Meyer. He didn't even last a year in Jacksonville. Meyer's performance was embarrassing both on and off the field. Darrell Bevell -- who has 15 years of experience as an OC -- will take over as interim HC. Meyer's departure can only be good news for Jacksonville's offense, although we still wouldn't go too crazy investing in Jaguars down the stretch.
Jaguars WR Jamal Agnew will miss the rest of the season with the hip injury he suffered in Sunday's loss to the 49ers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Agnew had emerged as a big part of Jacksonville's passing attack, averaging 6.3 targets over the last 6 games. Look for WR Marvin Jones, WR Laviska Shenault and TE Dan Arnold to pick up that volume.
Jaguars WR Jamal Agnew was knocked out of Sunday's game vs. the 49ers with a hip injury. HC Urban Meyer called it "devastating" afterward, so this looks like a serious one. We should learn more tomorrow.
The Lions claimed WR Josh Reynolds off waivers from the Titans. Reynolds could find playing time in Detroit's weak WR corps but is unlikely to become a fantasy factor. You can leave him on the waiver wire.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence suffered a low-ankle sprain in Sunday's win over the Bills, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "X-Rays were negative, little structural issues, and he’ll continue to receive treatment as he did after the game," Rapoport adds. Lawrence was able to play through the injury in Week 9 and should be available for Week 10's game vs. the Colts.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence hurt his right ankle in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Bills. We'll update his status when we know more. QB C.J. Beathard is Jacksonville's backup.
Update: Lawrence is officially questionable to return. He's trying to get loose on the sidelines.
Update: Lawrence returned.
Jaguars CB Tyson Campbell (toe) and DT Davon Hamilton (shoulder) are active for today's game at Seattle.
Packers S Darnell Savage (concussion) is active for today's game against Washington. OLB Preston Smith (oblique) and CB Kevin King (shoulder) are out.
Giants TE Evan Engram (calf) is active for today’s game against the Panthers. He was added to the injury report and sidelined on Thursday before returning to a limited practice on Friday. Engram is a high-risk Week 7 fantasy play.
Giants TE Evan Engram (calf) is expected to play vs. the Panthers today, barring a setback in pregame warmups, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Engram seemingly aggravated his calf injury in Thursday's practice and then was limited on Friday. He's a risky Week 7 fantasy play.
Packers S Darnell Savage is questionable for Sunday's game against Washington with a concussion. OLB Preston Smith (oblique) and CB Kevin King (shoulder) are also questionable. None is a high-level IDP option.
Giants TE Evan Engram (calf) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game against the Panthers. He was added to the injury report and sidelined on Thursday before returning to a limited practice on Friday. Engram will be a high-risk fantasy play if he ends up active on Sunday.
