Indianapolis Colts Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Giants QB Daniel Jones ran for 107 yards and a TD in Sunday's win at Jacksonville. He added 202 yards and a TD passing and went without a turnover for the 4th time in 7 games. Jones will be worth a look in many fantasy football leagues over the next 3 games. The Giants will visit Seattle next week, with home dates vs. Houston and Detroit following a Week 9 bye.

Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) is not listed on the final injury report. He practiced all week, including full workouts on Thursday and Friday. HC Frank Reich confirmed on Friday that Taylor will resume handling the bulk of the backfield work vs. the Titans this weekend. RBs Nyheim Hines (concussion) and Deon Jackson (quad) are also off the final injury report but aren’t viable fantasy plays.

Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) was upgraded to full participation in Thursday's practice. He's set to return for this weekend's game vs. the Jaguars.

Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) remained limited on Wednesday. He got in limited practices last Thursday and Friday but missed the Jaguars game. We're guessing Taylor returns for this weekend's game vs. the Titans, but he's certainly not a lock. We'll get another update tomorrow. RBs Nyheim Hines (concussion) and Deon Jackson (quad) put in full practices on Wednesday and should be available this weekend.

The Colts have downgraded RBs Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and Nyheim Hines (concussion) to out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. That leaves Deon Jackson as the anticipated starter. He obviously lands in a good situation for touch upside. Jacksonville does rank 9th in Football Outsiders' run-defense DVOA and 7th in overall defensive DVOA, though. So it's not a terrific matchup. Consider Jackson to be a fantasy option if you're in need rather than a player to specifically target.

Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Jaguars. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. HC Frank Reich said Friday morning that Taylor "has a chance to play" on Sunday. We should get an update on his status that morning and will get Indianapolis' inactives around 11:30 am ET.

Colts HC Frank Reich said Friday afternoon that RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) "has a chance to play" vs. the Jaguars this weekend. We're waiting for Indianapolis' final injury report, but it sounds like Taylor will be listed as questionable. Stay tuned.

Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. We'll see how that ankle responds and what he's able to do on Friday. RB Nyheim Hines (concussion) remained limited on Thursday.

Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. HC Frank Reich said after last Thursday night's win over Denver that he was "optimistic" Taylor would be back for Week 6, but he's not off to a good start. We'll see if JT can get back on the practice field tomorrow.

Giants QB Daniel Jones didn't appear to have any issues with his sprained ankle in Sunday's win over the Packers. He completed 21 of 27 passes for 217 yards -- a season high -- with no TDs or INTs. He also rushed for 37 yards on 10 attempts. Jones gets a home date with the Ravens in Week 6.

Colts HC Frank Reich said after Thursday night's win over the Broncos that he's "optimistic" RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) can return next week, per The Athletic's Zak Keefer. We'll keep an eye on Taylor's practice participation next week, as well as Nyheim Hines' after he sustained a concussion.

Giants QB Daniel Jones (ankle) isn't listed on the final injury report and will start Sunday morning's game vs. the Packers. Jones put in limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday and a full workout on Friday. It's still tough to believe that he'll have his usual mobility this weekend, which takes away most of whatever fantasy appeal Jones has. QB Tyrod Taylor (concussion) is out for Week 5, leaving QB Davis Webb as the backup.

Giants QB Daniel Jones (ankle) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. The New York media thought he looked better than expected in the open portion of practice. It looks like Jones is trending toward being available for Sunday morning's game vs. the Packers. QB Tyrod Taylor (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday.

Colts DT DeForest Buckner (elbow) was listed as a full practice participant every day this week and carries no injury designation into Thursday night's game against the Broncos. That's good news, because he didn't practice at all last week and then played just 35% of the snaps in the loss to Tennessee. That's less than half of Buckner's usual playing time. It appears we should expect something at least much closer to the full version of Buckner this week.

Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday night's game vs. the Broncos. He was always a long shot to play on the short week. Taylor's injury reportedly isn't serious, so he should have a shot to return for Week 6. JT's absence in Denver will leave the Colts with RBs Nyheim Hines, Deon Jackson and Phillip Lindsay, who's expected to be elevated from the practice squad. When Taylor missed Week 12 of the 2020 season, Hines played 65% of the offensive snaps and handled 10 carries and 10 targets.

The Colts still consider RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle, toe) "up in the air" for Thursday night's game vs. the Broncos, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said Wednesday morning. Taylor is hoping to play, and it sounds like he'll come down to a game-time decision.

Colts HC Frank Reich isn't ruling RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) out for Thursday night's game vs. the Broncos just yet. Taylor is hoping to go through pregame warmups before making the final call. "You want to use as much time as possible to see," Taylor said. "On a short week you have to use all the time that you have." We'll see how Indianapolis lists him on tomorrow's final injury report.

Giants QB Daniel Jones is "feeling a little bit better today," HC Brian Daboll said Monday. Daboll confirmed that Jones has a sprained ankle but wouldn't say if it's a high or low sprain. "We'll just see how that goes," Daboll added. With QB Tyrod Taylor in the concussion protocol, it's possible that the Giants are forced to start QB Davis Webb vs. the Packers in London on Sunday.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that further testing on the injured ankle of Colts RB Jonathan Taylor came back negative and that Taylor "has a chance" to play Thursday night against the Broncos. We'll track his progress throughout the short week. Nyheim Hines obviously isn't a direct replacement for the much larger Taylor but would be our top fantasy bet in that backfield if Taylor misses the game.

Scans on RB Jonathan Taylor's injured ankle "came back clean," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "But TBD on availability given the short turnaround," Rapoport adds. It sounds like Taylor avoided a significant ankle injury -- but that he's iffy for Thursday night's game vs. the Broncos. We'll keep a close eye on his status over the next few days.

Update: ESPN's Adam Schefter adds that Taylor "has a chance" to play against Denver.
