New HC Klint Kubiak wants RB Ashton Jeanty to “rarely come off the field, almost similar to Christian McCaffrey,” per beat writer Ryan McFadden.
ESPN’s Ryan McFadden believes rookie RB Mike Washington Jr. is in “prime position” to win Vegas’ No. 2 RB job. McFadden points to a thin depth chart and HC Klint Kubiak’s preference for a two-RB system as positives for the rookie.
The Raiders signed undrafted free agent RB Roman Hemby. Hemby broke out as a sophomore at Maryland, rushing 188 times for 989 yards and 10 TDs. He caught 33 passes that year, the first of three straight seasons with 30+ receptions. His receiving output dipped to 17 grabs for 165 yards at Indiana in 2025. But he paired with Kaelon Black to form one of the nation’s best backfield tandems. Hemby tallied career highs in carries (230) and rushing yards (1,120). Among the 20 RBs invited to the NFL Combine, Hemby ranked 16th in 2025 rushing market share (31.2%), and 11th in yards after contact per attempt (3.36). He ranked 18th in 2025 missed tackles forced per attempt (0.16) and ninth in receiving yards per route run (0.95). He is currently 23 years old.
The Raiders and C Tyler Linderbaum agreed to a three-year, $81 million deal with $60 million guaranteed on the first day of free agency. It makes Linderbaum the highest-paid interior lineman in NFL history. His $27 million average annual salary is $9 million more than any other center.
Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak intends to work on a deal to become the Raiders’ next head coach after the Super Bowl. Kubiak was the OC for the Saints before heading to the Seahawks. He will now inherit an offense with key young weapons in RB Ashton Jeanty, TE Brock Bowers, and likely QB Fernando Mendoza as the top pick of the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Las Vegas Raiders have fired HC Pete Carroll after on season as the head coach. The 2025 Raiders season was disastrous, with the team going 3-14. Tom Brady is expected to be a major factor in the search for a new head coach.
Raiders TE Brock Bowers led the team in targets, receptions, and receiving yards in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. But that produced just a 6-28-0 receiving line on eight looks. QB Kenny Pickett threw for a mere 64 yards on 15-of-25 passing in place of the injured Geno Smith. RB Ashton Jeanty was the only other Raider to catch more than two passes.
Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty stunk in Sunday's loss to the Broncos. He rushed 10 times for 30 yards and caught two balls for 8 yards. Jeanty had saved his PPR lines the previous three weeks with 6+ catches each time in three straight eight-target games.
Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty assumed his usual role dominating the backfield Sunday against the Chargers, shaking off the ankle injury that knocked him out of the previous game (but didn't land him on the Week 13 injury report). Unfortunately for fantasy managers, he also continued his usual poor ground production, managing a mere 31 yards on 15 carries (2.1 per rush). Fortunately for PPR formats, Jeanty tallied a team-high 6 receptions for 30 yards on a team-leading eight targets.
Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty is not listed on the Week 13 injury report. He was knocked out late in last Sunday's game with an ankle injury but is evidently in no danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Chargers. Jeanty's rushing efficiency has remained putrid lately, but he's racked up 22 catches on 26 targets over his last four games.
Raiders HC Pete Carroll called RB Ashton Jeanty's ankle injury a "tweak" and "not severe" on Monday. "It sounds like there’s a chance that he would be okay," Carroll added. We'll start the week projecting Jeanty to play vs. the Chargers but keep a close eye on his practice participation.
The Raiders fired OC Chip Kelly. He became the highest-paid coordinator in the NFL back in February and winds up lasting just 11 games. Vegas ranks 31st in points per game (15.0), 30th in total yards per game (268.9) and 30th in offensive EPA (-77.8). In Kelly's defense, QB Geno Smith has played poorly for most of the season, the offensive line is trash, and TE Brock Bowers was banged up for most of the first two months. The QB play and offensive line aren't changing the rest of the way, so Kelly's departure is unlikely to matter for fantasy football purposes. The Raiders have not yet named an interim OC.
Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty injured his left ankle late in Sunday's loss to the Browns. He was deemed questionable to return but didn't play on Vegas' final possession. We'll look for updates on the rookie's status. His absence would leave the Raiders' backfield to Raheem Mostert, Dylan Laube, and Zamir White.
The Dallas Cowboys entered Week 11 allowing the second-most fantasy points to RBs, but they were able to shut down Ashton Jeanty. The Raiders' rookie RB was held to a season-low 7 rushing yards and 6 attempts in the team's 33-16 loss. Jeanty somewhat salvaged his fantasy value by catching a season-high 6 passes, but only managed to produce 34 yards of offense on 12 touches.
Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty found little room to run against the Broncos on Thursday night, averaging just 3.2 yards per carry. But he was fed 19 times, compiling 60 rushing yards. That included a four-yard TD in the first quarter. Jeanty was similarly inefficient in the passing game, catching three of five targets for three yards. He lost seven yards on a blown-up screen and had a ball bounce off his hands and turn into an INT.
Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty delivered a nice fantasy line in Sunday's narrow loss to the Jaguars. A 5-47-1 receiving line delivered nearly all of that value and masked continued struggles in the Vegas run game. Jeanty ranked second on the team in catches and receiving yards for the game, earning a decent 13.2% target share. Jeanty also rushed 13 times for a mere 42 yards, despite the game remaining close throughout and no other Raiders RB garnering a single carry.
Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty wound up with decent numbers in Sunday's lopsided loss to the Colts. He carried 14 times for 67 yards (4.8 per rush) and led the team with seven targets. Jeanty caught five of those for 42 yards.
After playing over 85% of the Raiders' snaps and logging 21 touches in Week 1, RB Ashton Jeanty dipped to a 55.7% snap share and garnered 14 touches in Las Vegas' 20-9 loss to the Chargers.
