The Giants selected Penn State TE Theo Johnson in Round 4 of the NFL Draft. A converted WR, Johnson spent four years with the Nittany Lions – two as a full-time starter. Career-best numbers surfaced as a senior, but he wasn’t a major performer (34-341-7). He accounted for 13.8% of the team’s catches, 12.2% of the receiving yards, and 20.3% of the receiving TDs. He managed just 1.26 yards per route run -- down from the 1.58 figure he tallied as a junior. The real promise here lies in Johnson’s athletic gifts, which helped him to play all over the formation (47.9% inline, 38.8% slot, 9.8% wide). At 6’6, 259 pounds, he’s simply a rare athlete. Look no further than his Combine performance, which included a 4.57 forty, a 39.5-inch vertical, a 125-inch broad jump, and a 4.19 shuttle. Altogether, Johnson posted a historic 9.99 Relative Athletic Score. Now, his game needs refinement – most notably in his route running. Johnson also found himself in two off-field incidents that led to misdemeanors. He joins a Giants team that’s still waiting to hear whether TE Darren Waller will continue his football career. If not, TE Daniel Bellinger would stand as Johnson’s top competition for snaps. That’d give the rookie an outside shot at 2024 fantasy value – although he’s more of a dynasty bench stash.

Giants TE Daniel Bellinger (illness) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Packers. He’s averaged 2.5 targets, 2.3 catches, and 31 yards per game with TE Darren Waller out the last four contests.

Giants TE Daniel Bellinger missed the final two practices of the week with an illness and is listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Packers. Hopefully you're not relying on him in Week 14 fantasy lineups. Bellinger's absence would leave Lawrence Cager as New York's top TE.

The Giants placed TE Darren Waller on IR with his latest hamstring injury. He was already ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Raiders and will now also miss the next three games vs. the Cowboys, Commanders, and Patriots. The Giants then have a Week 13 bye, so Week 14 is the earliest we'll see Waller again. He's droppable in fantasy leagues without deep benches or IR spots. Daniel Bellinger will take over as New York's lead TE with Waller out. He averaged 2.5 catches, 22 yards, and 0.2 TDs across 12 games as a rookie last year.

Giants HC Brian Daboll said Thursday that TE Darren Waller (hamstring) won't play vs. the Raiders this weekend and might require a trip to IR. That'd knock him out for four total games. It's not a big surprise after Waller admitted that he'll likely miss multiple weeks with his latest hamstring injury. We'd try to keep him stashed on fantasy benches considering the sorry state of the TE position, but Waller might need to be dropped in shallow-bench leagues. His absence leaves Daniel Bellinger as New York's top TE. He averaged 2.5 catches, 22 yards, and 0.2 TDs across 12 games as a rookie last year. Bellinger is an emergency-only fantasy option.

The Giants on Friday added TE Darren Waller to the injury report and list him questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. The Sunday night kickoff for that one will make it difficult to wait for Waller's actual game status. Make sure you roster an insurance option before Sunday's games start. If Waller doesn't go, Daniel Bellinger should be New York's lead TE. We'll watch for more on Waller's status.

Giants QB Daniel Jones threw for 177 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's 38-10 beatdown of the Colts. He added 91 yards and 2 more scores on the ground. Jones hit WR Richie James and WR Isaiah Hodgins for TDs. James caught all 7 of his team-high 7 targets for a team-leading 76 yards. Hodgins ranked 2nd on the team in targets (5) and receptions (4), totaling 42 yards. TE Daniel Bellinger (3-42) was the only other Giant to catch more than 2 passes. This was Jones' 1st game all season with more than 2 total TDs. The Giants clinched a playoff spot with the victory. We'll see what they have to play for in a Week 18 visit to the Eagles.

Giants TE Daniel Bellinger (rib) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Commanders. He was limited in practice all week and carries elevated risk in fantasy lineups.

Giants TE Daniel Bellinger (rib) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game vs. the Commanders. We’ll see if he guts it out for this big game, but Bellinger isn’t a recommended fantasy play.

Giants TE Daniel Bellinger (rib) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. That gives him a shot to gut it out vs. the Commanders on Sunday night, but we'll see how the rookie progresses over the next few days.

Giants TE Daniel Bellinger's injured ribs are "pretty sore," HC Brian Daboll said Monday. We didn't get an official diagnosis on Bellinger, but ESPN's Jordan Raanan says it "didn’t sound great for him." We'll see if Bellinger can make it back for Sunday's game vs. the Commanders, but he probably shouldn't be in your Week 15 fantasy plans at this point.

WR Richie James led the Giants in targets (9), receptions (7) and receiving yards (61) in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. He capped it off with 2 catches on the final drive from QB Tyrod Taylor after New York pulled QB Daniel Jones -- including the Giants' final TD. WR Isaiah Hodgins checked in 2nd with 6 targets and 4 catches. His 38 yards ranked 3rd behind WR Darius Slayton (2-42 on 3 targets). Hodgins also caught Jones' lone TD pass, marking the young wideout's 2nd straight game with a TD. TE Daniel Bellinger managed just 3-19 receiving on 3 targets in his 2nd game back from an eye injury.

Giants TE Daniel Bellinger is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Eagles with a rib injury. He took a big hit in the 1st half and was clearly struggling. We'll update on his status when we know more.

Update: Bellinger has been ruled out.

Giants rookie TE Daniel Bellinger saw his 1st game action Sunday since a Week 7 fracture to the orbital bone around his left eye. He caught 5 balls for 24 yards against the Commanders, tying for 2nd on the team in receptions. Bellinger jumped back into a full-time role, trailing only QB Daniel Jones in snaps played among skill-position players and ranking 3rd on the team in routes. That makes Bellinger worth a look in deeper PPR leagues going forward. His best matchups sit in weeks 16 (Minnesota) and 17 (Indianapolis).

Giants TE Daniel Bellinger (eye) is active for today’s game vs. the Commanders. We’ll see if the rookie steps back in as New York’s clear lead TE, but he can’t be trusted in fantasy lineups in his first action since Week 7. TE Lawrence Cager is a healthy scratch.

Giants TE Daniel Bellinger (eye) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Commanders. The rookie seemingly has a good chance to return for this one but shouldn’t be in fantasy lineups.

Giants TE Daniel Bellinger (eye) got in a limited practice on Wednesday -- his 1st since going down in Week 7. We'll see if the rookie can make it back for Sunday's game vs. the Commanders, but he shouldn't be in your Week 13 fantasy plans.

Giants TE Daniel Bellinger (eye) is out for Thursday's game vs. the Cowboys. Lawrence Cager has emerged as New York's lead TE, running 38 routes and catching 2 of 3 targets for 20 yards last week.

Giants TE Daniel Bellinger (eye) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Lions. TEs Tanner Hudson and Lawrence Cager split work last week. Avoid the situation in Week 11 fantasy lineups.
