Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Ravens WR Rashod Bateman (foot) did not practice on Wednesday. HC John Harbaugh downplayed the injury earlier this week, but Bateman's availability for Sunday night's game vs. the Bengals is certainly in question. Check back tomorrow for another update.
Ravens HC John Harbaugh said RB Justice Hill's hamstring injury is not long-term but that he will miss time. We'll keep an eye on Hill this week, but expect him to miss Sunday night's game vs. the Bengals. That could push Baltimore to give RB J.K. Dobbins a bigger piece of the backfield pie
Ravens WR Rashod Bateman is "day to day" with a mid-foot injury suffered in Sunday's loss to the Bills, HC John Harbaugh said. We noticed Bateman hobbling around a few times during the game, and he didn't play in the 4th quarter. We'll keep an eye on his practice participation this week.
Titans RB Derrick Henry ran for 114 yards and a TD in Sunday's win over the Colts. He also led the team with 5 targets, catching 3 for 33 yards. After totaling just 1 target through the 1st 2 games, Henry has 11 over the past 2. That's an important development for his fantasy football value, which would otherwise be TD-dependent. The rushing yardage marked the 1st time this year that Henry eclipsed 90 on the ground. He'll face Washington in Week 5 and then get another shot at the Colts after a Week 6 bye.
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson threw for just 144 yards and a TD in Sunday's rain-soaked loss to the Bills, adding a pair of INTs. WR Rashod Bateman led the team in targets (6) but caught just 3 balls for 17 yards. TE Mark Andrews managed only 2 receptions for 15 yards among 5 targets. WR Devin Duvernay matched that target count and caught 4 passes for a team-high 51 yards. Jackson rebounded his fantasy line somewhat with 73 rushing yards on 11 attempts.
Ravens RB Justice Hill went down with a hamstring injury in the 2nd half of Sunday's game vs. the Bills. We'll update his status when we know more.
In addition to his customary 85 yards and a TD on the ground in Sunday's win over the Raiders, RB Derrick Henry collected 5 catches for 58 yards among 6 targets. It was just his 2nd career game with 5+ receptions and 5th game of more than 41 receiving yards. Henry had just 1 total target through the first 2 games, so we'll need to see more before we believe this signals a true change in approach for Tennessee.
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson delivered 218 yards and 4 TDs passing plus 107 yards and a TD on the ground in Sunday's 37-26 win over the Patriots. Jackson tossed 3 TDs against the blitz for the 2nd straight week, according to NFL Next Gen Stats, and leads all QBs in passing EPA (expected points added) vs. the blitz this season. He leads all QBs in fantasy scoring through 3 weeks.
Ravens TE Mark Andrews racked up 8-89-2 receiving on 13 targets in Sunday's win over the Patriots. That accounted for 44.8% of QB Lamar Jackson's total pass attempts, with just 1 other Raven topping 2 targets. That was WR Rashod Bateman, who caught 2 of 4 looks for 59 yards. WR Devin Duvernay and TE Josh Oliver snagged Jackson's other 2 TD passes. New England ranked among the league's toughest matchups for TEs last season. Although the Pats missed S Kyle Dugger in this game, let the result remind you that we need not fear matchups when it comes to Andrews. Bateman will generally find more favorable conditions than he had Sunday.
Ravens CBs Marlon Humphrey (groin) and Marcus Peters (knee) are active for today's game against the Patriots. Each played through his issue last week, but for less than his usual playing time.
Colts EDGE Yannick Ngakoue (back) is active for today's game against the Chiefs. He's a lower-level IDP option anyway, though.
Bears LB Roquan Smith is active for today's game against the Texans. He missed practice all week with a hip injury and hit Sunday looking like a true game-time decision. There's risk to playing Smith in IDP lineups. But if he's ready for full playing time, then the numbers should follow. CB Jaylon Johnson (quad) is inactive.
Ravens TE Isaiah Likely (groin) is active for today’s game vs. the Patriots. The rookie was limited in practice all week and remains more of a dynasty stash than redraft option.
Titans LT Taylor Lewan will miss the rest of the season with the knee injury that knocked him out of Monday night's loss to the Bils. That's a significant blow for the Tennessee O-line, which negatively impacts RB Derrick Henry and the pass protection for QB Ryan Tannehill. We'd recommend shopping Henry after his next good fantasy outing.
Colts DE Yannick Ngakoue (back) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. He'll be a lackluster IDP option even if active.
Ravens CBs Marlon Humphrey (groin) and Marcus Peters (knee) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots. Each guy played through a questionable tag in Week 2, but each also failed to play his usual snap allotment. This time around, though, Humphrey and Peters each finished the week with a full practice. That bodes well for their Sunday status.
Ravens TE Isaiah Likely (groin) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Patriots. The rookie has 4 catches on 9 targets through 2 games and shouldn't be in your Week 3 fantasy plans.
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (right elbow) is not listed on the final Week 3 injury report. After being limited on Wednesday, he put in full practices on Thursday and Friday. We’re not expecting the elbow to be an issue vs. the Patriots this weekend.
Bears LB Roquan Smith (hip) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans. He missed practice all week and doesn't look like a great bet for Week 3 IDP lineups. CB Jaylon Johnson (quad) is also questionable after a Thursday injury that sidelined him Friday.
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (elbow) was listed as a full participant on Thursday. That presumably means he threw as he normally would. Jackson is on track to play vs. the Patriots on Sunday and seems safe to use you fantasy lineups.
