Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (knee) is listed as questionable for Friday afternoon's game vs. the Jets. He was limited in practice all week. The Dolphins elevated RB Darrynton Evans from the practice squad on Thursday, which is an indication that they're not particularly optimistic about Achane's availability for this one. We'll get Miami's inactives around 1:30 pm ET on Friday.
Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (knee) put in his second straight limited practice on Wednesday. We'll see what he does on Thursday and how he's listed on the final injury report for Friday afternoon's game vs. the Jets.
The Dolphins listed RB De'Von Achane (knee) as a limited participant in Tuesday's practice. It's surprisingly positive news just two days after he re-injured his right knee. Achane seemingly has some chance to play vs. the Jets on Friday. We'll keep you updated on his status over the next few days.
Dolphins beat writer Barry Jackson writes that RB De’Von Achane’s status for Week 12 “seems highly questionable.” Miami plays on Friday afternoon, which doesn’t give the rookie’s knee much time to heal. “He was feeling better this morning,” HC Mike McDaniel said Monday. “It’s not going to require surgery. We are getting extra feedback and opinions and taking that day by day this week.” McDaniel also shared that Achane’s right knee was injured on Sunday – the same one he sprained in Week 5. We’ll let you know when there’s another update on his status. In the meantime, Raheem Mostert will remain the clear RB1, with Salvon Ahmed as the likely change-of-pace option. Note: Jeff Wilson was a healthy scratch in Week 11.
Browns LB Anthony Walker left Sunday's win over the Steelers with a hamstring injury. We'll watch for more on his outlook this week, but he seems like a solid bet to miss at least a game. If Walker does sit out Week 12, we'd likely to looking at close to full playing time for LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. He'll be worth a waiver-wire look ahead of a Week 12 clash with the Broncos.
Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel confirmed after Sunday's win over the Raiders that RB De'Von Achane hurt the same knee that kept him out of the previous four games. McDaniel said the knee got landed on but that Achane was lobbying to re-enter the game. Miami played it safe and held Achane out the rest of the way. McDaniel also said that Achane got "positive feedback" from the trainers on his status. It sounds like he avoided a significant re-injury, although it's still possible that Achane misses more time. We should learn more tomorrow.
Despite seeing 8 targets, Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle underwhelmed in Sunday’s win over Vegas. The third-year WR managed 4 catches for 55 yards. His totals could have been higher, though, as Tua Tagovailoa overthrew him on a deep ball that was picked off. Waddle’s now been under 70 yards in six of his past seven outings. Aside from Week 13 at Washington and Week 14 vs. Tennessee, his rest-of-season schedule looks tough. As long as Tyreek Hill stays healthy, Waddle projects as a volatile WR2/3 down the stretch.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa posted 325 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 INT in Sunday's win over Vegas. Tua wasn't particularly sharp in this one, with one fumble and a couple of clear misfires. Still, he hit 300 yards for the fifth time this season. Other than a Week 13 matchup at Washington, Tua’s rest-of-season schedule continues to look challenging. So he’s a viable sell-high if you can find a manager desperate for QB help.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill walked to the locker room with an apparent hand/wrist injury. He racked up 7 catches, 80 yards, and 1 score before departing. We'll let you know when there's an update on Hill's status.
Update: Hill returned late in the second quarter.
Dolphins RB De'Von Achane is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Raiders with a knee injury. This is presumably related to the injury that had the rookie sidelined since Week 5. We'll update Achane's status when we know more. His absence leaves Miami with RBs Raheem Mostert and Salvon Ahmed.
Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (knee) is officially active for today’s game vs. the Raiders. The rookie isn’t the safest play in his first action since Week 5, but his upside is huge. Achane finished as a top-5 PPR RB in each of his last three games. And Vegas ranks 23rd in adjusted fantasy points allowed to RBs. RB Jeff Wilson is a healthy scratch today, leaving Salvon Ahmed as the No. 3 RB behind Achane and Raheem Mostert.
NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe is told that Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (knee) will be a "full-go" today. The rookie has been out since Week 5 but finished as a top-5 PPR RB in each of his last three games. Achane would be tough to leave on Week 11 fantasy benches vs. Vegas' 23rd-ranked RB defense.
The Dolphins have activated RB De'Von Achane (knee) from IR, making him available to play Sunday against the Raiders. We've been expecting Achane to be available this week, his first week of eligibility. You can find the rookie in RB1 territory of our Week 11 rankings. His return adds a challenge for RB Raheem Mostert's workload, but he still carries plenty of upside as well and belongs in your fantasy lineup in most cases.
Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (knee) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Raiders. HC Mike McDaniel said Friday that he was optimistic about Achane’s availability for this one. We’ll see if the rookie is activated from IR ahead of the Saturday 4 pm ET deadline.
Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (knee) will return for this weekend's game vs. the Raiders, according to insider Jordan Schultz. Achane remained limited in Thursday's practice. We'll see how he's listed on the final injury report tomorrow, but the rookie can be penciled back into Week 11 fantasy lineups for now.
Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He's eligible to return for this weekend's game vs. the Raiders, and The Miami Herald's Adam Beasley said Monday that there's "an excellent chance" he does. HC Mike McDaniel stopped short of guaranteeing that Achane will play on Sunday but sounded optimistic, calling the rookie "un-tackleable" in Monday's practice. "I feel good about where we're at," McDaniel added. We'll keep an eye on Achane over the next few days.
The Dolphins are opening the 21-day practice window for rookie RB De'Von Achane to return from IR. Achane missed the past four games with a knee sprain, but Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald says it "sounds like there's an excellent chance" the rookie plays this week. HC Mike McDaniel reportedly even indicated that Achane could have played through the issue with a brace on the affected knee. But the team decided that didn't fit the player's long-term interests. Achane, of course, has scored fantasy points at a ridiculous rate when on the field so far this year, leading all RBs in PPR points per game on just 11.75 touches per contest. He's likely bound for some regression on that, but should also remain a weekly fantasy starter. His combo of game-breaking speed and an offense designed to exploit that skill makes Achane a high-upside play across matchups. His return challenges RB Raheem Mostert's role a bit but hasn't altered Mostert's touch count to date. Mostert has averaged 13.4 touches across five full games without Achane; 14.0 per game in the three contests in which Achane played a significant role. (The rookie touched the ball only twice in his first game.) RBs Jeff Wilson Jr. and Salvon Ahmed, on the other hand, can be dropped in most redraft formats.
Seahawks LB Jordyn Brooks (hamstring) is active for today's game against the Commanders. He missed the week's first two practices before returning to a full Friday workout and winding up questionable. Brooks is ready for IDP usage if you waited on him, though.
Seahawks LB Jordyn Brooks (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Commanders. HC Pete Carroll said Friday, however, that "there's a really good chance" Brooks will play, according to John Boyle of the team website. We'll confirm Brooks' status on Sunday. Make sure you have an insurance option available.
Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel said Monday that RB De'Von Achane (knee) has avoided setbacks and is on track to return when first eligible in Week 11. Achane, of course, was lighting the league on fire before going down, turning in three straight top-5 PPR finishes. We'll keep an eye on his status when Miami returns to work next week. But an active Achane will be impossible to leave out of starting fantasy lineups.
