Tom Brady Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Buccaneers QB Tom Brady threw for just 243 yards and 1 TD on 25-of-40 passing in Sunday's loss to the Steelers. It was a disappointing outing vs. a Pittsburgh defense that arrived just 24th in Football Outsiders' pass-defense DVOA. On top of that, The Steelers were missing 3 corners and S Minkah Fitzpatrick. Chris Godwin led the team with a 6-95 receiving line on 12 targets, double his nearest teammate. RB Leonard Fournette was the only other Buc with more than 4 targets. WR Mike Evans posted a 4-42 receiving line on his 4 targets. Tampa Bay visits the Panthers in Week 7, before home dates with the Ravens, Rams and Seahawks.

Buccaneers QB Tom Brady attempted 52 passes for the 2nd straight game in Sunday's win over the Falcons. He completed 35 (67.3%) for 351 yards (6.75 yards per attempt) and 1 TD. Brady targeted RB Leonard Fournette most, throwing his way on 21.2% of pass attempts (11 targets) -- including his only TD toss. WR Mike Evans ranked 2nd with 8 targets, catching 4 for 81 yards. TE Cade Otton (6-43) and WR Scotty Miller (4-35) tied with 7 targets. WR Chris Godwin (6-61) and WR Russell Gage (2-20) each drew 6 looks. The Bucs now rank 4th in the league in pass attempts and have run on just 33% of offensive snaps for the season to date.

Bucs QB Tom Brady (shoulder, finger) isn’t listed on the final Week 5 injury report. After sitting out on Wednesday, Brady put in full practices on Thursday and Friday. We’re not expecting the shoulder or finger to be an issue in this weekend’s game vs. the Falcons.

Bucs QB Tom Brady (shoulder, finger) was back on the practice field on Thursday. He should be fine for a potential blowup spot at home vs. the Falcons. Brady posted 276-5-0 and 368-4-1 passing lines in 2 games against Atlanta last year.

Buccaneers QB Tom Brady sat out of Wednesday's practice with injuries to his right shoulder and a finger on his right hand. The finger injury carried over from the previous week and isn't likely to be an issue. We'll keep an eye on the shoulder. TE Cameron Rate (concussion) also missed practice Wednesday. We'd bet on him not playing in Week 5.

Buccaneers QB Tom Brady racked up 385 yards and 3 TDs on 39-of-52 passing in Sunday night's loss to the Chiefs. He hit WR Mike Evans for a pair of scores, in the wideout's return from a 1-game suspension. His other TD went to RB Leonard Fournette from 5 yards out. Brady dropped back on 82.8 of the team's offensive snaps, as Tampa ran the ball only 6 times. Don't expect too many more pass-run splits like that, regardless of game script.

ESPN's Adam Schefter hears that the Bucs are "optimistic" that WRs Chris Godwin (hamstring) and Julio Jones (knee) will be able to play vs. the Chiefs tonight. "But Tampa Bay wants to test both pregame to make sure," Schefter adds. We won't get the Bucs' inactives until around 7 pm ET, and Godwin and Jones will both carry elevated risk if they are active. So we'd try to keep them on fantasy benches this week. This news makes WR Russell Gage a shakier Week 4 fantasy play but helps QB Tom Brady.

Bucs QB Tom Brady finished Week 3 with 271 yards and 1 TD on 31 of 42 passing. Playing without Chris Godwin (hamstring), Mike Evans (suspension) or Julio Jones (knee), Brady watched WRs Breshad Perriman and Russell Gage lose fumbles. Gage did score the team’s lone TD late in the 4th, but the 2-point conversion — to send the game into OT — was unsuccessful. Considering the WR injuries and the banged up O-line, Brady’s performance was actually encouraging. Evans will return for Week 4 (vs. Kansas City) but Jones and Godwin remain uncertain.

Bucs QB Tom Brady has a "banged-up" right ring finger, HC Todd Bowles said Friday. “He’s ready to go,'' Bowles added. "He’s full practice. He took every throw." This doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's not what Brady needs considering all the WR and offensive line injuries he's dealing with. Brady is not a top 12 QB option this week.

Buccaneers QB Tom Brady didn't have a terrible outing in Sunday's loss to the Saints, but he also didn't particularly help your fantasy team. With Chris Godwin and Julio Jones out, Brady completed just 18 of his 34 passes for 190 yards (5.6 yards per attempt) and 1 TD. He found WR Breshad Perriman for the 28-yard score. Brady took just 1 sack and threw no INTs, but he did lose a fumble. We'll see if he gets any pass-catchers back for the Week 3 meeting with Green Bay. He's not likely to have Mike Evans, however, thanks to his suspension for fighting Sunday. Don't be surprised if Brady lands outside our top 12 for Week 3.

Bucs QB Tom Brady will get Wednesdays off all season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Brady, of course, left the team for about a week and a half in August, reportedly to take a vacation with his family. The missed practice time is unlikely to make a difference on game days, but we'll keep an eye on the situation.

Tom Brady went just 18 of 27 passing for 212 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT in Sunday night's win over the Cowboys. WR Mike Evans led the group in playing time, targets, catches and yards and caught the lone TD. He supplied a solid 5-71-1 receiving line on 5 looks. WR Julio Jones trailed Evans by just 1 route and finished 2nd with 5 targets. WR Russell Gage checked in 3rd among WRs in usage, with Breshad Perriman close by in a game that saw Chris Godwin injure a hamstring. TE Cameron Brate also played a big role, though he drew just 3 targets. We'd bet on more from this passing offense going forward, even if Godwin misses further time. We'd also bet on Gage's role expanding as he moves further away from his hamstring ailment.

A source close to Bucs QB Tom Brady tells NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that this is expected to be Brady's final season. Brady has said multiple times that he'd play until he was 45 -- and he turned 45 earlier this month. It's also worth noting that Brady isn't under contract for 2023, which Rapoport calls "noteworthy," and has a broadcasting deal waiting from FOX Sports. Of course, Brady has changed his mind on retirement before, so this certainly isn't set in stone. But dynasty owners should be making other plans for 2023 and beyond.

Bucs QB Tom Brady said WR Julio Jones is "really easy to have chemistry with" after Saturday night's preseason game. "Elite wide receiver," Brady said of Jones. The duo connected for a 20-yard gain on their only series of the final exhibition. With WR Russell Gage still sidelined with his hamstring injury -- and WR Chris Godwin coming off his torn ACL -- Jones could open the season with a big role.

Buccaneers QB Tom Brady is back with the team and expected to practice today, according to ESPN's Jenna Laine. With more than 2 weeks to go before the regular-season opener, Brady and his receivers should have plenty of time to get ready.
