Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Bills HC Sean McDermott said Monday that LB Terrel Bernard is "trending in the right direction in regards to being able to play Sunday" against the Broncos, according to Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News.
Eagles HC Nick Sirianni told reporters Monday that QB Jalen Hurts remains in the league concussion protocol. He suffered the injury early in the team's Week 16 loss to Washington.
Browns QB Deshaun Watson had a setback in his recovery from his torn Achilles, GM Andrew Berry revealed Monday. "We don’t have all the details yet, but it will obviously extend the recovery process for him," Berry said. He added that Watson's availability for the start of the 2025 season is uncertain. Cleveland recently restructured Watson's deal, which will keep him with the team next season. But expect the Browns to add competition via free agency and/or the rookie class. They hold the second overall pick in this spring's draft.
Ravens HC John Harbaugh labeled WR Zay Flowers "day to day" with the knee injury he suffered in Saturday's win over the Browns. "He’ll try to do everything to get back as soon as he can, and we’ll see where that takes us," Harbaugh said, refusing to provide any details on the injury. We're still not expecting Flowers to play vs. the Steelers on Saturday night but will keep you updated on his status. It at least seems like Flowers would have a good chance to be ready for the Divisional Round if Baltimore takes care of business this weekend.
The Seahawks fired OC Ryan Grubb. This one catches us by surprise. Seattle finished 14th in total yards and 18th in points in Grubb's lone season at the helm. He was one of the pass-heavier play callers in the league, with the Seahawks ranking seventh in pass attempts and eighth in yards. QB Geno Smith completed 70.4% of his passes at 7.5 yards per attempt, and WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba broke out for a 100-1,130-6 receiving line. We'll see who defensive-minded HC Mike Macdonald tabs as his next OC.
Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. said Monday that he played all season with a small fracture in his back. James Boyd of The Athletic reports that Pittman first felt the issue during training camp and had the fracture revealed by testing in Week 3. It was Week 6 when we got the odd progression from Pittman expecting to lose multiple weeks to a back injury to playing in that week's game. He wound up missing only Week 10 vs. Buffalo.
Colts S Julian Blackmon will have surgery on his right shoulder, according to James Boyd of The Athletic. Blackmon reportedly tore the labrum in his right shoulder all the way back in Week 1. He missed the following game but then returned to play all but three snaps the rest of the way.
Packers WR Christian Watson is believed to have torn his right ACL and suffered additional damage to the leg, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The Jaguars fired HC Doug Pederson, according to multiple reports. This one was a lock. It was frankly surprising that Pederson made it through the entire 2024 season. He went 9-8 in his first two years in Jacksonville before an ugly 4-13 season that saw the Jags rank in the bottom 10 in points, total yards, rushing yards, and passing yards. QB Trevor Lawrence did not make any noticeable strides under Pederson's tutelage and recorded his worst passer rating since his 2021 rookie campaign this past year. The Jaguars are retaining GM Trent Baalke. We'll see who he tabs as his next HC.
Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs ran 23 times for 139 yards and three TDs while also catching all five of his targets for 31 yards and a TD. Gibbs ran wild on the Vikings defense to secure the top seed for the Lions in the playoffs. With RB David Montgomery's status still up in the air, Gibbs will be relied upon throughout the playoffs.
Bears QB Caleb Williams completed 21 of 29 passes for 148 yards and 1 TD in Sunday's win over Green Bay. Williams led the team to his second fourth-quarter comeback of the season.
Broncos QB Bo Nix completed 26 of 29 passes for 321 yards and four TDs, with another 47 yards on the ground, crushing the Chiefs' back-ups 38-0. Nix was masterful with his passing precision and decision-making, pushing the Broncos into the playoffs to face off against the Bills in the first round.
Rams RB Blake Corum broke his forearm in Week 18 and will miss the playoffs, HC Sean McVay said. The injury shouldn't have too big an impact on Corum's offseason. His absence leaves Ronnie Rivers as the Rams' No. 2 RB. Kyren Williams might handle 100% of the backfield touches this postseason. The Rams host the loser of Sunday night's Lions-Vikings game in Round 1.
Lions RB Craig Reynolds (back) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Vikings. He was added to the injury report on Friday and listed as questionable but is available to spell RB Jahmyr Gibbs tonight.
Rams RB Blake Corum is questionable to return to Week 18 with a forearm injury. He tallied 2 carries for 10 yards and 1 catch for 12 yards before departing.
The Patriots fired HC Jerod Mayo, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. It's one-and-done for Mayo, who was hand-picked by Bill Belichick to be his successor. New England went 4-13 in Mayo's lone season, finishing in the bottom 10 in both points scored and points allowed. The latter might have been Mayo's undoing considering his defensive background. We'll see who the Patriots tab as their next HC. It's an especially important hire for QB Drake Maye's fantasy value.
Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. caught seven of 11 targets for 103 yards in the Jaguars Week 18 loss to the Colts. He ends his rookie season catching 87 passes for 1,282 yards and 10 TDs.
49ers RB Isaac Guerendo injured his left leg on the first drive of Sunday's game vs. the Cardinals. He was quickly ruled out for the rest of the game with knee and ankle injuries. We'll update Guerendo's status when we know more, but this looks like a serious injury.
Packers HC Matt LaFleur said after Sunday's loss to the Bears that QB Jordan Love could have re-entered with his elbow injury. Green Bay opted to hold Love out, ultimately losing and finishing as the NFC's No. 7 seed. That'll send them to Philadelphia in Round 1. But it sounds like Love will be ready for that one.
Jets TE Tyler Conklin (calf) is active for today’s game vs. the Dolphins. He only got in a limited practice on Friday. Try to avoid Conklin in Week 18 fantasy lineups.
