Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Bills WR Khalil Shakir (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. He registered a season-low 50% route rate in the Week 6 win over the Jets coming off the ankle injury, but it looks like he'll be back to full playing time vs. the Titans this weekend. Of course, Shakir now faces added target competition with the arrival of WR Amari Cooper

Bills RB James Cook (toe) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He seemed reasonably close to playing vs. the Jets on Monday night, so we're projecting Cook to return for Sunday's game vs. the Titans. We'll keep you updated on his status leading up to that one.

Jaguars RB Travis Etienne (hamstring) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. It's a surprise after he was unable to return to last week's game -- and gives him a chance to play vs. the Patriots on Sunday. We'll see how Etienne progresses over the next few days.

Patriots QB Drake Maye had an MRI on his knee after Wednesday's practice, according to The Boston Globe's Ben Volin. Maye was listed as a full participant on Wednesday, but the knee must have been bothering him enough to get it checked out. We'll see what that MRI reveals -- and what it means for Maye's availability for Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars. If he's unable to play, New England would turn back to QB Jacoby Brissett.

Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson (foot) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice. HC Jerod Mayo said last week that Stevenson isn't dealing with a long-term injury, but he's certainly not a lock to be available for Sunday morning's game vs. the Jaguars in London. With Stevenson out last week, RB Antonio Gibson handled 13 carries and four targets but mustered just 43 total yards.

Saints TE Taysom Hill (rib) is listed as doubtful for Thursday night's game vs. the Broncos. He got back on the practice field this week but hasn't been cleared for game action. We'll see if he can make it back for Week 8. Alvin Kamara will continue to dominate backfield work for the Saints with Hill out.

Saints WR Rashid Shaheed is out for Thursday night's game vs. the Broncos and likely longer. HC Dennis Allen said Wednesday that Shaheed is set for surgery to repair a meniscus injury in his knee. There's a “chance” he lands on IR, Allen added. We'll look for further details on Shaheed's timeline for return, but expect him to at least miss Week 8. New Orleans' bye isn't until Week 12.

Saints WR Chris Olave (concussion) is out for Thursday night's game vs. the Broncos. He never had a realistic chance to clear protocol in just four days. Olave should be back for Week 8's game against the Chargers, but we'll track his progress next week.

Panthers WR Diontae Johnson (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. Johnson has been playing through this ankle issue for two weeks and should be fine for Sunday's game vs. the Commanders. But we'll keep an eye on him over the next few days.

Giants WR Malik Nabers has made "good progress" in the concussion protocol, HC Brian Daboll said Wednesday. Nabers will practice in a non-contact jersey, so expect him to be listed as limited on the official injury report. Barring a setback, Nabers should be cleared in time to play vs. the Eagles this weekend. We'll keep you updated on his status.

New Jets WR Davante Adams is "planning" to play vs. the Steelers on Sunday night, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. We'll see if Adams' (alleged) hamstring injury impacts his practice week. Considering his long history with QB Aaron Rodgers, we'd expect his transition to a new team to be much smoother than it is for most WRs who move in-season. The matchup is tough against Pittsburgh's fourth-ranked WR defense, but Adams will certainly be startable for most fantasy teams.

The Packers signed K Brandon McManus to a one-year deal. ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that McManus is expected to immediately replace K Brayden Narveson, who has made just 12 of 17 FGs this season. McManus sports a career 81.4% FG conversion rate, including 70.5% from 40+ yards. He'll be a fantasy factor on the high-scoring Packers.

The Texans are trading RB Cam Akers to the Vikings for a swap of conditional Day 3 draft picks in 2026. Houston's sending Akers and a conditional seventh-rounder to the Vikings for a conditional sixth-rounder, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Saints TE Taysom Hill (rib) got in a limited practice on Tuesday. It looks like he has a chance to return for Thursday night's game vs. the Broncos. New Orleans could certainly use Hill with QB Derek Carr and WRs Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed likely out. Hill could be a viable week 7 fantasy starter in half-PPR and especially non-PPR. We'll see how he progresses over the next two days.

Saints WRs Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee) did not practice on Tuesday. Olave has virtually no chance to clear protocol in time for Thursday night's game vs. the Broncos. We're still waiting for more information on Shaheed's knee injury, but he seems unlikely to play against Denver. Without their top two WRs, the Saints would be left with Bub Means, Mason Tipton, and Cedrick Wilson.

The Jets will make WR Mike Williams available for trade, according to insider Jordan Schultz. Williams has been running as New York's No. 3 WR and will now be No. 4 on the depth chart with Davante Adams' arrival. Williams hasn't looked 100% recovered from last year's torn ACL, struggling to draw targets or get on the same page as QB Aaron Rodgers. Leaving New York could only be good news for his fantasy value. We'll see if the Jets find a trade partner.

The Jets have placed S Chuck Clark on IR after he suffered a high ankle sprain in Monday night's loss to the Bills. That knocks Clark our for at least the next four games. That makes him eligible to return for Week 11, with one game before the Jets' Week 12 bye. We'll see what the team does with that. Clark is OK to drop for DB help in most IDP leagues. Ashtyn Davis should fill in for him and has been a player worth challenging in coverage for opponent passing games.

WR Amari Cooper was traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Buffalo Bills. The Browns received third- and seventh-round picks while giving up Cooper and a sixth rounder. Cooper, the top WR for the Browns, will slot in as the Bills' No. 1 WR once he settles into the offense.

49ers WR Ricky Pearsall returned to practice on Monday, 44 days after being shot in an attempted robbery. The Niners have 21 days to move Pearsall onto the active roster or place him on season-ending IR. San Francisco has a Week 9 bye, so Week 10 might be Pearsall's most likely debut. He'd probably need injuries to two of Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings, and George Kittle to be a real fantasy factor this season. The rookie can be left on the waiver wire in most redraft leagues.

Steelers QB Russell Wilson is receiving the first-team reps at practice this week, putting him in line to start Sunday night's game vs. the Jets. Justin Fields has been the QB for the first six weeks and helped Pittsburgh to a 4-2 record, but Wilson will now get his shot.
