Cincinnati Bengals Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Colts RB Zack Moss "plans to try to play" Sunday against the Falcons, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. X-rays on the shoulder Moss injured against the Steelers on Saturday were negative, but he'll still need to progress through the practice week to be ready. We'll certainly be watching for details on that progress. In the meantime, Trey Sermon is worth a look on the waiver wire. He worked a little ahead of Tyler Goodson after Moss went down in Week 15 and would be the preferred fantasy option if Moss can't go. Don't look to Sermon as a strong fantasy play, however.

The Bengals are "bracing for Ja'Marr Chase to miss time" with his shoulder injury, according to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer. Chase was originally scheduled to get an MRI on Sunday, but his shoulder was too sore. He'll get that MRI tomorrow. We should get an update on his status then.

Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase is "day-to-day" with a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder, HC Zac Taylor said Sunday. It sounds like Chase has a chance to be ready for this coming Saturday's game vs. the Steelers. We'll track his status throughout the coming week.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports that Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase suffered a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder in Saturday's win over the Vikings. Chase is scheduled for additional testing, but "the hope is that maybe he won't miss any time," according to Garafolo. We'll look for more details on Chase's status and track his practice participation this coming week.

X-rays on Colts RB Zack Moss' right arm came back clean, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. That's significant after Moss broke that arm in training camp. Moss was having trouble gripping the football, per Garafolo, which is why he was unable to return to Saturday's win over the Steelers. We'll look for more information on Moss' status going forward. RB Jonathan Taylor (thumb) also has a chance to return for Week 16. If both Moss and Taylor are out, Indianapolis would be down to RBs Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson.

Colts RB Zack Moss injured his right arm at the end of a 16-yard TD catch in the second quarter of Saturday's game vs. the Steelers. This is the same arm that Moss broke back in training camp. He's officially questionable to return to this one. His absence leaves Indianapolis with RBs Tyler Goodson and Trey Sermon. Stay tuned for an update on Moss' status.

Update: Moss has been ruled out.

Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase suffered a shoulder injury in the second half of Saturday's game vs. the Vikings and will not return. He was shown on the sidelines with what looked like a sling underneath his hoodie. We'll look for an update on Chase's injury and his status for Week 16 and beyond.

Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase (ankle) is not listed on the final Week 15 injury report. He was a full participant in Thursday’s practice and should be ready for his usual role vs. the Vikings on Saturday afternoon.

Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (ankle) returned to a limited practice on Wednesday. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirmed earlier in the day that Chase is expected to be ready for Saturday's game vs. the Vikings. We'll see how he's listed on the final injury report tomorrow, but he can stay penciled into Week 15 fantasy lineups for now.

Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (ankle) was listed as a non-participant on Tuesday's injury report. Cincinnati only held a walkthrough, and Chase was out there with the team, according to ESPN's Ben Baby. It sounds like Chase should be fine for Saturday afternoon's game vs. the Vikings, but we'll update his status again tomorrow.

Bengals QB Jake Browning went to the locker room with an apparent thumb injury. He was hurt on a scamble in the fourth quarter. For now, A.J. McCarron has taken over as Cincy's QB1.

Update: Browning reportedly dealt with muscle cramps. He returned to the game in the 4th quarter.

Panthers S Vonn Bell (shoulder) is off the final injury report for Sunday's game against the Saints. That means he's ready to return after missing Week 13 and leaving the previous game early. Bell has managed just two full games among his past seven thanks to a pair of injuries. You can find him at the bottom of DB3 territory in our Week 14 rankings, though.

The Bengals’ passing game exploded in Week 13 vs. the Jaguars, headlined by a tremendous 11-149-1 receiving line from superstar WR Ja’Marr Chase. His 31.6 PPR points in the contest rank as Chase’s second-highest total this season and should assuage any concerns about his ability to produce with QB Jake Browning under center. While fantasy managers can feel confident in Chase moving forward, it may be time to get worried about his teammate Tee Higgins. In his first game back from a Week 9 hamstring injury, Higgins drew a minuscule 3 targets (fourth on the team) on Monday night and finished with 3 catches for 36 yards. This is now the fifth time in Higgins’ eight healthy games he’s hauled in 3 or fewer catches and failed to record double-digit PPR points. It’s probably best to leave the soon-to-be free agent on your bench headed into the fantasy playoffs.

Bengals QB Jake Browning balled out in primetime Monday night action, completing 32 of 37 passes for 354 yards with 1 TD vs. the Jaguars. The former UDFA also added 22 rushing yards and a TD on the ground in the contest. This performance ranks among the very best from Week 13, as Browning led QBs in passing yards and completion percentage (86.5%). He should be celebrated, though it’s important not to get carried away. The Bengals’ remaining schedule ranks fourth-toughest for QBs per our adjusted fantasy points allowed. Fantasy managers streaming the young signal-caller in superflex leagues should consider him in the QB2 conversation in Week 14 vs. the Colts but keep expectations in check.

The Bengals have placed CB Cam Taylor-Britt (ankle) on IR. That means he'll miss not only tonight's game against the Jaguars -- which Taylor-Britt had already been ruled out for -- but also three more contests. That obviously means you can go ahead and drop Taylor-Britt from your redraft IDP team, if you haven't done so already. D.J. Turner and Chidobe Awuzie led CB playing time for the Bengals in Week 12, with Taylor-Britt out. No. 3 Mike Hilton remained in his usual range. Hilton is the best bet for fantasy production among the trio the rest of the way. He ranks among the top 20 DBs over the past five weeks.

Colts RB Zack Moss managed just 57 scoreless yards in the Week 13 overtime win over the Titans. Tennessee entered this one ranked second in run defense DVOA and held Moss to 2.7 yards per carry. That's the bad news. The good news? Moss handled all 19 Colts RB carries. He also drew three targets -- although he lost two to RB Tyler Goodson and one to RB Trey Sermon. Still, it was strong usage for Moss without Jonathan Taylor, who will likely miss at least two more games. Week 14 brings a bad Bengals run defense. Expect to find Moss ranked as a top-15 RB for that one. He gets a tougher Week 15 draw vs. the Steelers but will still be a volume-based RB2 play.

The Bengals have ruled CB Cam Taylor-Britt out for Monday night's game against the Jaguars. He might have been on track to return from the quad injury that cost him Week 12, but he sprained an ankle in practice this week. We'll see about Taylor-Britt's status heading into Week 14.

Bengals WR Tee Higgins (hamstring, ankle) is not listed on the final Week 13 injury report. He put in full practices on Friday and Saturday, so he should be at least close to 100% for Monday night's game vs. the Jaguars. Still, Higgins is no better than a WR3 with QB Jake Browning.

Bengals WR Tee Higgins (hamstring, ankle) put in a limited practice on Thursday. He said afterward that he plans to play vs. the Jaguars on Monday night. We'll track Higgins' status throughout the week, but he'd be a shaky Week 13 fantasy play catching passes from QB Jake Browning off a multi-week hamstring injury. See where Higgins lands in the Week 13 WR Rankings.

Bengals LB Logan Wilson left Sunday's loss to the Steelers with a sprained ankle. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports it's merely a "minor" low-ankle injury, though. That's positive news for Wilson's chances of a quick return. We'll watch his status leading up to Monday's visit to Jacksonville.
