Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Rams DL Aaron Donald suffered a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. HC Sean McVay said Monday that his status for Sunday's game against the Seahawks is "TBD," according to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times. Losing Donald would obviously significantly impact the L.A. defense. We'll watch his status this week.
Rams rookie RB Kyren Williams more than doubled RB Cam Akers' snap count in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. Williams led the backfield with 11 carries, 3 more than Akers, and drew all 3 RB targets for the game. He caught all 3 for 25 yards but managed just 35 yards on his 11 rushes (3.2 per carry). That trailed Akers' rushing production (37 yards on 8 attempts), but the playing time is noteworthy. Ideally, you're not playing any Rams RB the rest of the way. But if you need to, Williams looks (for now, at least) like the guy.
Rams TE Tyler Higbee (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Chiefs. He got in just limited practices on Thursday and Friday, so it’s safe to assume that he’s not at 100%. Higbee will also be catching passes from QB Bryce Perkins. That keeps him outside our top 12 TEs for the week.
Ravens WR Demarcus Robinson (hip) is active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. He was added to the injury report and sidelined on Thursday but returned to a full practice on Friday. Robinson should be ready to again serve as Baltimore’s lead WR today.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Rams are "uncertain when or if" QB Matthew Stafford will return this season. Stafford is out for today's game at Kansas City with a neck strain. He has also landed in the league concussion protocol twice, though HC Sean McVay says the 2nd concussion hasn't been confirmed. It's easy to forget that we were all concerned about an issue with Stafford's right elbow entering the season. Throw in his myriad physical issues and a 3-7 record -- which will almost certainly add a loss to the Chiefs -- and it would make sense to let Stafford take the rest of the year off.
Ravens WRs Demarcus Robinson (hip) and Devin Duvernay (hamstring) are expected to play vs. the Jaguars today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Both guys were listed as questionable, although Robinson was a full-go in Friday's practice. Duvernay was added to the injury report on Friday and looks like the riskier of these 2 guys from a health standpoint.
Rams TE Tyler Higbee (knee) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Chiefs after getting in just limited practices on Thursday and Friday. HC Sean McVay said Friday that he expects Higbee to play. But between the knee issue and a backup QB, he’s a shaky fantasy option.
Ravens WR Demarcus Robinson (hip) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Jaguars. He was added to the injury report and sidelined on Thursday – but returned to a full practice on Friday. So Robinson should be able to play on Sunday, but check Shark Bites around 11:30 am ET to make sure he’s active.
Rams TE Tyler Higbee (knee) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. We'll see what he does tomorrow and how he's listed on the final injury report for this weekend's game vs. the Chiefs.
Ravens WR Demarcus Robinson was added to Thursday's injury report with a hip and did not practice. So his status for this weekend's game vs. the Jaguars is suddenly in question. Check back tomorrow to see how Robinson is listed on the final injury report.
Rams TE Tyler Higbee missed Wednesday's practice with a knee issue. HC Sean McVay labeled him "day to day." Check back tomorrow for another update on Higbee's status for Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs.
Rams QB Matt Stafford is out for Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs, HC Sean McVay said. Stafford is in the concussion protocol and is being evaluated for a neck injury after experiencing numbness in his legs during last week's loss to the Saints. It certainly seems like Stafford could miss more time beyond Week 12. QB Bryce Perkins is in line to make his 1st career start on Sunday.
Pro Football Talk reports that Rams QB Matt Stafford has entered the concussion protocol. HC Sean McVay refused to say whether Stafford was in the protocol in his Monday press conference. But if this PFT report is correct, Stafford is a long shot to be cleared for Week 12 and might miss multiple games.
Rams HC Sean McVay said Monday that QB Matt Stafford is still being evaluated for a concussion and is uncertain for Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs. "I think you wanna be really careful with that," McVay said. "It's gonna be about the person first and foremost." Considering he just sustained a concussion back in Week 9, we'd be surprised if Stafford played this weekend. His absence would leave the starting job to either QB John Wolford, who missed Week 11 with a neck injury, or QB Bryce Perkins.
Rams TE Tyler Higbee drew a team-high 8 targets in the 1st game since WR Cooper Kupp landed on RB. He caught 4 for 45 yards. WRs Allen Robinson and Van Jefferson followed him with 5 targets apiece. Robinson and WR Tutu Atwell claimed the team's 2 offensive TDs. We'll see whether QB Matthew Stafford can make it back from his concussion for next Sunday's visit to the Chiefs (but we wouldn't bet on it).
Ravens WR Demarcus Robinson caught all 9 of his targets for 128 yards to own the passing game in Sunday's 13-3 win over the Panthers. He accounted for 37.5% of QB Lamar Jackson's completions for the game and 61.2% of the passing yards. TE Mark Andrews (6-63 on 8 targets) was the only other Raven to reach double digits in receiving yards. WR Devin Duvernay caught his only target for 3 yards. It's the 2nd time in 3 games that Robinson has reached 8 targets and 6 receptions. Combine that with a schedule that finds Baltimore playing the Steelers, Browns, Falcons and then Steelers again to close out most fantasy football seasons, and Robinson will be worth adding off waivers in many leagues this week.
Rams QB Matthew Stafford will undergo further testing on Monday to determine whether he'll enter the concussion protocol, according to the team. We'll update the situation when we know more. Stafford just sustained a concussion in Week 9.
Rams QB Matt Stafford headed back to the locker room to get checked for a concussion in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Saints. Stafford, of course, missed last week's game with a concussion. We'll update his status when we know more. QB Bryce Perkins has entered for Los Angeles, with QB John Wolford out with a neck injury.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Rams WR Cooper Kupp is expected to miss 6-8 weeks after surgery for his high-ankle sprain. He adds that the team will need to turn things around to "give Kupp any chance to return this year." At 3-6, the Rams will need to make an extreme rebound to have any shot at the playoffs, and they just lost the only offensive player having a good season. We'd bet that Kupp doesn't play another snap in 2022.
Rams QB Matt Stafford (concussion) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll be back for Sunday’s game vs. the Saints but won’t have WR Cooper Kupp. That leaves Stafford as a low-end QB2 in fantasy lineups.
