New York Giants Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Giants WR Wan'Dale Robinson (knee) did not practice on Wednesday. We still don't have any details on his injury, but ESPN's Jordan Raanan reports that Robinson had a brace on his right knee and said, "it certainly looks like he'll miss some time." The rookie is not a must-hold on redraft rosters.

Raiders TE Darren Waller ended Week 1 with 4 grabs for 79 yards. He saw 6 targets, tied with Hunter Renfrow for 2nd on the team behind clear-cut leader Davante Adams (17). Waller posted chunk gains of 31 and 23 yards, with the 31-yarder nearly going for a score. He should have scored earlier on an end zone ball, but the Derek Carr pass was thrown well behind. So, Waller will look for his first TD this week vs. Arizona. He'll remain a strong TE1 for that one.

Giants WR Wan'Dale Robinson suffered a knee injury in the 1st half of Sunday's game vs. the Titans and has been ruled out. We'll pass along an update on his injury when we get one.

The Raiders and TE Darren Waller agreed to a 3-year, $51 million contract extension. The deal makes Waller the league's newest highest-paid TE in average annual salary and locks him in with the Raiders through the 2026 season. It's confirmation that Waller will remain a big part of this new Josh McDaniels offense.

The Giants list EDGE starters Azeez Ojulari (calf) and Kayvon Thibodeaux (knee) as doubtful for Sunday's opener against the Titans. That puts the team in even worse shape in a matchup that already heavily favored Tennessee and further softens the matchup for Titans offensive players.

Bills WRs Isaiah McKenzie and Jamison Crowder split slot duties in Thursday night's opener vs. the Rams. McKenzie ran a route on 55% of pass plays vs. Crowder's 32%, but Crowder out-targeted McKenzie 4 to 3. We'll continue to monitor this situation, but neither guy will be a reliable Week 2 fantasy play.

As expected, Devin Singletary led the Bills backfield in Thursday night's opener vs. the Rams. He played 59% of the offensive snaps and handled 8 carries and 2 targets. RB Zack Moss played a bigger role than we expected, registering a 38% snap rate, 6 carries and 6 targets. Rookie RB James Cook lost a fumble on his 1st touch of the night and ended up playing just 2 more snaps the rest of the way. This is shaping up as an ugly situation for fantasy football. Singletary is the best bet for now but is no more than a RB3 or flex. Moss is worth a bench spot in leagues of 12+ teams. Ditto for Cook, whose role still figures to grow throughout the season.

Raiders TE Darren Waller isn't listed on the Week 1 injury report. He missed most of August with hamstring and/or contract trouble, but neither issue is a concern moving forward.

Giants EDGE starters Azeez Ojulari and Kayvon Thibodeaux put in limited practices Wednesday. Thibodeaux is coming off an Aug. 21 right MCL sprain, and the New York Post says he's chances of playing Sunday look "like a long shot." Ojulari is dealing with a calf issue that has had him considered day-to-day since late August.

The Giants and WR Darius Slayton have negotiated a pay cut that will keep the wideout on the team, according to Newsboy's Tom Rock. Slayton agreed to drop his salary from $2.54 million to the league minimum of $965,000, with incentives that could rebound the number. The move saves the Giants $1.6 million in cap space. Although the agreement keeps Slayton on the team, it clearly doesn't bode well for his role in the offense.

Raiders TE Darren Waller said Tuesday that he's ready to play in Sunday's opener against the Chargers, according to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. He has only been back at practice since Aug. 31, but the hamstring that kept Waller out for nearly all of August is apparently good to go.

Bills WR Isaiah McKenzie (groin) put in a full practice on Monday. It's confirmation that he'll be ready to go for Thursday night's opener vs. the Rams. Check out where McKenzie sits in the Week 1 WR Rankings.

Bills WR Isaiah McKenzie was back on the practice field on Sunday. He looked "very close to being a full go," The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia said. It looks like McKenzie is trending toward being ready for Thursday night's opener vs. the Rams, but we'll continue to keep an eye on him.

Bills WR Isaiah McKenzie suffered an undisclosed injury on Saturday and hasn't practiced since, according to ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg. GM Brandon Beane only said, "we'll see" when asked about McKenzie's availability for the Thursday night season opener vs. the Rams. We'll keep an eye on this and get Buffalo's first official injury report on Monday. Jamison Crowder would step in as the Bills' slot receiver if McKenzie can't go.

Raiders TE Darren Waller returned to practice on Wednesday. The veteran previously missed time with a hamstring injury. He also remains in pursuit of a new contract and recently signed on with super agent Drew Rosenhaus. “Darren’s good, Darren’s good to go,” HC Josh McDaniels said early Wednesday. “You’ll see him today. I don’t really know anything about that whole situation yet. He’ll be out there today and we’re excited about moving forward here with our whole group and trying to get guys in positions where we feel like they’re going to be as we head into the opening week next week.”

The Vikings are waiving WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette in the wake of trading for Jalen Reagor. Smith-Marsette garnered just 6 targets as a 5th-round rookie last year, though this spring brought some mild buzz that he might push for a larger role. If Minnesota is looking to put him on the practice squad, the 23-year-old will first need to pass through waivers unclaimed.

The Broncos placed TE Greg Dulcich (hamstring) on IR, knocking him out for at least the first 4 games of the season. It's not a surprise after the rookie missed most of the offseason with core and hamstring injuries. GM George Paton said Dulcich will "100%" be available come Week 5, but he's not worth stashing on standard redraft benches. TE Albert Okwuegbunam will have a chance to lay claim to the lead role in September.

Giants TE Daniel Bellinger practiced on Tuesday, according to insider Art Stapleton. Bellinger left the preseason finale to get checked for a concussion, but he was either cleared then or passed through the protocol already. The rookie remains in line to open the season as New York's lead TE.

Giants TE Daniel Bellinger exited Sunday's preseason game to get checked for a concussion. We'll see if he's diagnosed with the head injury. Bellinger is currently atop New York's depth chart, but we wouldn't be surprise to see the team make an addition at the position this coming week.

Raiders HC Josh McDaniels wouldn't commit on Wednesday to TE Darren Waller being ready for the start of the season. according to The Athletic's Tashan Reed. Waller has missed basically all of training camp with a hamstring injury. "He is working his butt off," McDaniels said. "He knows he is going to be a big part of our team." Waller still has about 2-and-a-half weeks before the opener, but this has become a situation to keep a close eye on. We wouldn't blame you for shying away from Waller at ADP until he gets back on the field.
