Green Bay Packers Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) remained limited in Friday's practice. His status for Monday night's game vs. the Chargers is uncertain. We'll get another update on his status tomorrow.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He's no longer listed on the injury report with a toe issue. HC Jon Gruden was non-committal when asked about Jacobs' status for Monday night's game vs. the Chargers. "We'll see," Gruden said. "I'd say he's questionable at the moment." Gruden also said this of RB Peyton Barber: "Not going to hesitate to put him in a primary role, after what he did against the Dolphins." We'll see if Jacobs is ready for Monday night and then how Vegas divvies carries.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (toe, ankle) is inactive for today’s game against the Dolphins. That leaves Kenyan Drake and Peyton Barber in Vegas’ backfield again. Drake played 71% of the offensive snaps last week, tallying 7 carries and 6 targets. He’s a RB2 in PPR leagues; a RB3 or flex in non-PPR.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (toe, ankle) is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. It’ll be Kenyan Drake and Peyton Barber in Vegas’ backfield again. Drake played 71% of the offensive snaps last week but was out-carried 13 to 7 by Barber. Drake racked up 6 targets, though, and is a borderline RB2 for Week 3.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (toe, ankle) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice. HC Jon Gruden already called Jacobs "very questionable" for this weekend's game against the Dolphins, so fantasy owners shouldn't be counting on him. With Jacobs out last week, RB Kenyan Drake garnered 7 carries and 6 targets vs. Peyton Barber's 13 carries and 0 targets.

Raiders HC Jon Gruden said Monday that RB Josh Jacobs is "very questionable" for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. Jacobs missed Week 2 with toe and ankle injuries, and his coach doesn't sound optimistic or Week 3, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. That would leave the Vegas backfield to Kenyan Drake and Peyton Barber once again. Drake dominated the playing time at Pittsburgh, 71% to 29%, but each RB drew 13 opportunities. We'd still bet on Drake over Barber in Week 3 if you're making that decision. And we'll certainly be watching Jacobs' status this week.

When asked Friday whether RB Josh Jacobs' absence means a bigger opportunity for RB Kenyan Drake, Raiders HC Jon Gruden instead talked up RB Peyton Barber. "It's an opportunity for Peyton Barber," Gruden said, evidently seriously. "We think he's a heck of a back coming from Tampa. I've had a chance to really get behind the scenes on him. I like the way he runs and catches and picks up blitzes. Kenyan will continue to play a role in our system no matter who the other back is. We're excited about this opportunity to see what we have." We'd be very surprised if Barber out-carried Drake in Pittsburgh on Sunday -- especially consider Vegas just gave Drake a 2-year, $11 million deal in free agency. But it at least sounds like we shouldn't expect Drake to step into a true every-down role.

The Raiders have ruled RB Josh Jacobs out for Sunday's game at Pittsburgh. Jacobs is dealing with toe and ankle injuries, with the toe a holdover from Week 1. His absence makes Kenyan Drake a solid fantasy option against a Steelers defense that allowed 72 rushing yards to Devin Singletary on just 11 carries in the opener. Peyton Barber will be Vegas' #2 RB on Sunday.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (toe, ankle) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. He played through the toe issue last week, but the ankle injury is new. Jacobs seems to be in real danger of missing Sunday's game against Pittsburgh, which would leave Kenyan Drake as Vegas' lead back. We'll get another update tomorrow.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs did not practice on Wednesday and is on the injury report with toe and ankle issues. Jacobs played through the toe problem on Monday night, but the ankle issue is new. We'll get another update on his status tomorrow. Backup RB Kenyan Drake needs to be rostered in all fantasy leagues.

6:09pm EDT 9/13/21

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs is active for tonight's game against the Ravens. He was limited in practice all week with a toe issue and then added back to the injury report with an illness on Saturday. We haven't heard that Jacobs will be limited tonight, though, so he seems safe to use as you were originally planning.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (illness) is “on track” to play tonight vs. Baltimore. We’ll share Jacobs’ official game status once inactives are released in a couple of hours.

The Raiders have downgraded RB Josh Jacobs to questionable for Monday night's game against the Ravens because of an illness. It's not clear what the illness is. If it were COVID-related, though, Jacobs would have already been ruled out. We'll check on his status Monday evening. Kenyan Drake would start in his place, with Peyton Barber looking like the #2 back. On the Ravens side, Ty'Son Williams, Latavius Murray and Le'Veon Bell stand as potential replacements if Jacobs is out and you're suddenly hard up.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (toe) was limited in practice all week but isn't listed on the final injury report. We'll keep an eye on the toe issue but are expecting Jacobs to be ready for his usual role on Monday night vs. the Ravens.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs was limited in Thursday's practice with a toe issue. It's the 1st we've heard of it. Jacobs should be available for Monday night's game vs. the Ravens, but stayed tuned to Shark Bites for updates.

Raiders beat writer Vic Tafur writes that RB Josh Jacobs looks “tougher and faster this camp.” It’s worth noting that Jacobs — entering his 3rd season — is only 23. Tafur also described Kenyan Drake as someone who’ll be "moved around on third downs and in the red zone.” No surprise there. Both RBs are viable picks at ADP, but it’s clear that Drake’s presence will limit Jacobs’ fantasy ceiling.

Packers QB Jordan Love (right shoulder) returned to practice on Monday. He’d missed about a week of action with the minor injury. Now, we’ll see if the team deems him healthy enough to suit up for Saturday's preseason game (at Buffalo).

Packers HC Matt LaFleur said Thursday that QB Jordan Love is "unlikely" to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Jets, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. That it's not a definite no from the coach at this point indicates Love's shoulder issue is minor, just as the team has said. Kurt Benkert would start in place of Love, with Aaron Rodgers staying out of harm's way.

Packers QB Jordan Love hurt his right shoulder in Saturday night’s preseason opener. An MRI came back clean, though, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, and Love is “unlikely to miss time.”

The Raiders have activated RB Kenyan Drake off the NFI list. Now we get to start learning more about his role with the new team. Vegas also placed RB Theo Riddick on the reserved/retired list
