Denver Broncos Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

The Commanders have ruled LB Cody Barton out for Sunday's game against the Eagles. It's the move we've been expecting after Barton left last week's game with a walking boot on his sprained ankle. Expect a full-time role for Jamin Davis and LB2 duty for David Mayo.

Commanders LB Cody Bardon (ankle) sat out Wednesday's practice. He came away from Sunday's loss to the Giants with a walking boot on the ankle he sprained early in the game. We're betting Barton will miss Week 8 but will keep an eye on his status throughout the week. LB Jamin Davis will likely get full playing time if Barton sits, with David Mayo the next LB up.

Broncos RB Javonte Williams posted a mini breakout in Week 7. On a season-high 15 carries, he gained 82 yards (5.5 per attempt) while adding 3 receptions. Williams easily led the way in snaps (31) and narrowly edged Samaje Perine in routes (13 to 10) and targets (4 to 3). Jaleel McLaughlin remained a factor with 2 targets and 5 catches. Ultimately, Williams’ health looks to be on the rise, so there’s reason for optimism going forward. He’ll look for his first TD of 2023 this week vs. Kansas City.

Commanders LB Cody Barton left in the first quarter of Sunday's loss to the Giants with a left ankle injury and did not return. The Athletic's Ben Standig reports that Barton was in a walking boot after the game. We'll watch for more on his status, but that all doesn't seem to bode well for Barton's chances of being ready for a Week 8 home date with the Eagles. If Barton misses further time, Jamin Davis looks like the full-time LB, with David Mayo taking on Davis' usual role. That could mean anywhere from 65-90% of defensive snaps, based on Davis' playing time to date and how much Mayo played Sunday.

Broncos WR Courtland Sutton tallied 6 grabs, 76 yards, and 1 score in Week 7. That makes 5 total TDs for Sutton on only 31 catches. He saw a 20.6% target share in this one, enough to lead the team. Next Sunday turns up a rematch with Kansas City. Sutton tallied 4-46-1 (6 targets) against the Chiefs in Week 6.

Broncos TE Greg Dulcich (hamstring) has been placed on IR. Again. He missed Weeks 2 through 5 on IR with a hamstring injury and will now miss at least another four games. Denver has a Week 9 bye, so we won't see Dulcich again until Week 12 at the earliest. He can be dropped from all redraft rosters.

Broncos TE Greg Dulcich (hamstring) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Packers. He reinjured his hamstring in his return last week and figures to be looking at another multi-game absence. Dulcich is droppable (again) in most fantasy leagues.

Chargers TE Donald Parham (wrist) is active for tonight's game vs. the Cowboys. He's a TD-dependent flier in one-game DFS contests.

Chargers TE Donald Parham (wrist) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Chargers. He put in full practices on Friday and Saturday, so he seems likely to play. Parham isn't a fantasy option outside of one-game DFS contests, but his presence is a drain on TE Gerald Everett's fantasy value.

Broncos TE Greg Dulcich injured his hamstring in Thursday’s loss to Kansas City. He finished the game with 1 catch for 3 yards. Dulcich had just returned from a hamstring-related IR stint, so we might be looking at an aggravation. We’ll see if he’s able to get on the practice field next week.

The Broncos have officially activated TE Greg Dulcich (hamstring) from IR, the last hurdle to him being available to play. He's officially questionable for tonight's game against the Chiefs and shouldn't be in most fantasy lineups even if active. But Dulcich's athleticism and rookie-year performance makes him worth stashing in plenty of leagues. We wrote more about that in his week's Waiver Pickups article.

Broncos TE Greg Dulcich (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game vs. the Chiefs. He was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, so it looks like he has a real chance to play for the first time since Week 1. Dulcich shouldn't be in Week 6 season-long fantasy lineups but could quickly re-emerge as a fantasy factor.

Broncos RB Javonte Williams (quad) is not listed on the final injury report for Thursday night's game vs. the Chiefs. He put in full practices on Tuesday and Wednesday, so it doesn't look like that injury will be an issue tomorrow. Williams was sitting 31st among RBs in PPR points through three weeks. He's just a RB3 or flex in Week 6 fantasy lineups with the Broncos 10.5-point underdogs.

Broncos RB Javonte Williams (quad) was listed as a full participant in Tuesday's practice. He was also full last Friday before missing the Jets game, so this doesn't necessarily mean that he'll play vs. the Chiefs on Thursday night. We'll see how Williams is listed on the final injury report tomorrow.

Broncos TE Greg Dulcich (hamstring) has been designated to return from IR. He's eligible to play vs. the Chiefs on Thursday night if he's ready. We'll keep you updated on his status. Dulcich shouldn't be in your Week 6 fantasy plans but is worth grabbing in deeper fantasy leagues. He finished 17th among TEs in PPR points per game as a rookie last year.

Coming off one of his better games as a pro in the Week 4 loss to the Chiefs, Jets QB Zach Wilson disappointed against a bad Broncos defense. The indecision and inconsistent accuracy that's plagued Wilson for most of his NFL career resurfaced in this one. He finished 19 of 26 for 199 yards, 0 TDs, and one INT. He took four sacks and fumbled twice, although both were recovered by the Jets. With his best matchup of the season behind him, you can go back to ignoring Wilson in fantasy football.

Broncos RB Javonte Williams (quad) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Jets. That leaves backfield duties to Jaleen McLaughlin and Samaje Perine. We’re expecting something close to a 50/50 split between them, but McLaughlin has been the better player this year and is the preferred fantasy start.

The Broncos want to work out RB Javonte Williams (quad) before today's game before deciding whether he'll play vs. the Jets. It's a slight surprise after Williams was a full participant in Friday's practice. We'll look for further updates on Williams but won't get Denver's inactives until a little before 3 pm ET. You need to have a late-game replacement lined up if you're hoping to start Williams.

Broncos RB Javonte Williams (quad) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Jets. He went from no practice on Wednesday to a limited practice on Thursday to full participation on Friday. That seemingly has Williams on track to play this weekend. We’ll look for further updates on his status. We won’t get Denver’s inactives until around 3 pm ET on Sunday.

Broncos RB Javonte Williams (quad) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He seemingly has a chance to play vs. the Jets this weekend. We'll see what Williams does on Friday and how he's listed on the final injury report.
